That's because your perception was wrong. Wins and Loss have ALWAYS been the only thing that mattered (at least for the last 40-50 years). Major college football is not some scholastic extracurricular meant to "mold and shape" young men. It's a multi-million (maybe billion) dollar BUSINESS. That's what an entity is when it is generating hundreds of millions in revenue. Loses don't sell tickets. They don't make you attractive to TV networks. They don't make people want to pay licensing fees to put your brand/trademark on everything from oven mitts to toothbrushes.
The only hypocrisy was thinking major college football was anything BUT a business.

I just don't understand why the college football world hates Kiffin so much. Is he a man of character? Eh, there've been some issues in the past, no doubt about that. But he's a great coach and he's obviously making huge strides in trying to get his shite together personally.

Also, much of the established "print" media guys are fans of traditional powers. LK isn't doing anything different than he did at OM, just on a smaller scale, he wasn't a threat. They see him potentially building a monster here so all they can do is write pearl clutching articles hoping to destabilize. It's very similar to Wade, once he started stepping on the toes of blue bloods, he became public enemy #1.

The media constantly bitching about everything we tells me two things. Lane Kiffin is doing a great job and the media is pissed/jealous. Every other program in America is doing what Kiffin is doing yet there’s no uproar. Kick rock Forde you smug prick.
