So the coaches started a kid against a division rival who didnt know the playbook?
wow, says LOADS for them
CptBengal during the week leading up to Auburn...prior to Harris being named the starter...

On whether Harris’ performance in the Wisconsin game was reason to start Jennings up until the Auburn game...
quote:
No. It was obvious to everyone during the spring game BH should be the starter.
On the statement that Harris actually did look lost against Wisconsin…

fricking
Snaps.
Good god.
On the opinion that the coaches will play the best player at QB…
quote:
If that is AJ, our coaches need a seeing eye dog.
On whether it makes sense to play A.J. at all so that he doesn’t transfer
quote:
So in order to make a player feel better we should start and play him despite how badly he plays...just so he wont potentially leave?
Are you people serious with this bullshite?
On the concept that it would be a smart move to start Jennings…and play Harris against Auburn if Jennings falters…
quote:
The smart move is to waste multiple series to start a game?
what da frick kind of logic is that?
On the idea that Jennings, as a freshman in game 5, might not yet be as prepared as Jennings...
quote:
This freshman played better than AJ in the spring game.
But AJs 1 year and 2 games more experience means he is a grizzled vet!
On Les Miles starting Jennings at the beginning of the year…
quote:
Harris didnt start, and Miles chose the starter THEREFORE BH couldnt have been ready. Why? Because their lord and savior Less miles in infallible.
...If Miles starts AJ this week, they will come up with some reason (like the absurd notion of him needing to watch AJ flounder to get a "view" of the defense) as to why…
On whether starting Jennings up until the Auburn game objectively made some sense…
quote:
Yep.
BH is one of the best QBs in the country.
AJ is one of the worst.
numbers are objective.
On being reminded that Harris may not be ready…and that he melted down against Wisconsin…and that we wouldn’t have won without Jennings…

can you also tell me the lotto numbers?

This where you fail.
i think Bh should have been the starter all season last year, regardless of playbook knowledge.
The coaches said he didnt know the playbook, and wasnt ready, then THEY trotted him out there.
I didnt do that. They did, then threw him under the bus.
Great "men of character" with "lots of chest".

The Mannings have been secretly destroying the LSU quarterback position for the last five years now. #Rebels

The correct answer is C

you don't necessarily have to pick one argument position, pick a few then alternate
argue the other side of the coin at all times
repeat

He's scrambling because he was steadfast in his belief that the playbook mantra was nothing but TD rumor.
His mind has become too taxed trying to invent a new narrative now that this has been verified in print.

The amount of retard in this thread is reaching high levels. Harris (and/or any other LSU QB) isn't at the camp because "LSU didn't send him." He's not there because he wasn't invited. As stated earlier, this isn't a camp for college players. It's for HIGH SCHOOL kids. Any college player who is there was invited and is there to serve as a counselor, not an attendee.
What a non-issue
What a non-issue

Because he doesn't want to embarrass Peyton with true elite play.

Let's be honest. You wanted Harris to start at Auburn. You didn't see a risk that his inexperience and lack of preparedness would be an issue. And, now, in hindsight, you are criticizing the coaching staff for starting Harris because it didn't work out.
Dukke v did the exact same thing a month or so ago. It's hypocritical and pathetic.
The truth that you don't want to admit is that LSU didn't have a QB last year...not one. So, the coaching staff was choosing between a guy who was in a huge slump and was much less talented with a kid who is uber talented but who wasn't ready. Meanwhile, the entire fan base (you included) thought Harris needed to start. I'm sure the entire team at the time thought it was the best option.
So, the coaching staff was choosing between two options that were imperfect. So, they decided to play Harris.
I think that was 100% a reasonable decision at the time. And, I think you would have to be an idiot to think otherwise.
If I were going to criticize the coaching staff, it wouldn't be for starting Harris against Auburn...it would be for not playing him more down the stretch. And, that's not because I think it would have necessarily given us a better chance of winning last year. It's because I think it made sense to give up some of last year for this year.
You are obviously a hypocrite and deserve to be called out for it.

There was another position on Harris. It was, if you want to start him at Auburn, you have to start him against NMST. If you aren't going to start him at home, then he has to come off the bench on the plains. I still can't believe that we 2004 Jamarcus Russel'd Harris. Anyone could have seen it coming.

What is the deal with everyone saying he has trouble with the playbook?
It was obvious in the Spring Game. I wouldn't say he does not know it but he does not have command of it. It requires being able to step up to the LOS and read the defense and make changes as necessary. In SG he had to call 4 TO's in the game. AJ called zero. Also he still "loses the field" when he roles out sometimes. He is about where you would expect a guy who has three semesters in the system. He will get better and is the higher potential guy IMHO.
The catch here is the fact that the best way for him to improve this is to get more live snaps.
Don't read this as I am an AJ supporter. I am not - I believe BH is the future here.
