Inconsistency is this team's weakness.

Can you name a team in the history of college baseball that was on their "A" game every single time they hit the diamond? Can you name a player that never slumped, never went 0-fer, never pitched a bad game, never made a base running error?

That's baseball, not inconsistency. I'm not pumping sunshine, I'm really pissed any time we lose, but it will happen from time to time. The rankings say LSU has been the most consistent team in college baseball this season. This team is far from perfect, but the last thing I would call them is inconsistent

I don't know about that, he chewed Fraley's arse out pretty good after his stupid base running.

PM is to blame because of the pitching choices late. Lange was cruising. I know the coach put a 100 pitch count on him. Lange would have been fine to continue if PM really wanted to win. He didn't for obvious reasons. I blame him for the loss but I don't blame him for the way he did it.

LSU pitching gave up 2 runs in 9 innings. You can't blame this loss on pitching no matter how many ways you try to spin it.
sure you can. Every guy that came out of the pen looked like shite. We had the lead before they fricked it up.

Hugo,

Lange was sidelined recently for arm fatigue. Going into the "tournament the actually matters" did you really want to see Lange go 125 pitches?

No shite.

You're basically saying LSU isn't perfect and that could be their undoing. Nice insight.

I personally don't think today's game matters at all, but yes the pitching this weekend is worrisome. 2 starters torched and the bullpen today. But I also think baseball is a fickle sport, when you're on you're on, when you're not you can look like shite. It's the reason baseball seasons have many games and playoffs/tourneys are "best of" or multiple elimination - which the SECT is not for the bracket winner.

Of course not! That why I don't blame PM for doing what he did knowing it could cost him the game, which it looks like it may have.

Not going to argue that the relievers did not look bad, because they certainly shoulder some of the blame. But when your offense (the best offense in the conference, and one of the best in the nation) gives you 1 run to work with, the majority of the blame should fall on the nine guys swinging the sticks.

I think he was testing arms for the regional. He was quick with the hook also. 3 pitchers threw in the 8th.

Offense simply didn't produce today. Hopefully they got that out of their system and come out banging in the regional.

They will.

They won't face anybody as good as Florida in a regional at The Box.

We actually got plenty of hits. Just no long balls, which was the difference.

I think Stallings will be very useful in eating up some innings with the lead. Maybe a 7th or 8th inning guy when we're up 3+ runs.

When do regionals start? Cause if there's any blessing in disguise I think it may be resting some pitchers.

Stallings taught CPM something about him this year. Stallings needs to focus on learning a real change up that will drop in the zone or a breaking pitch.
Compliment his 95-98 mph heat with those and you have a real closer.

We're probably on the same page. I know you're all in the mood to jump on and attack anybody right now because LSU lost. Just remember we're on the same side.
