Don't think that is true.

Classy move.

This program could have completely fallen off the rails following Orgeron (see Auburn or Florida), but overall Kelly kept us in a decent place. It certainly didn't live up to expectations, but the roster is in a much better place now what what he inherited when he took over and I'm grateful for that.

This....I agree.

I wonder who wrote that for him. I honestly don't think he has the capacity as a human being to write that.

Glad his kids got degrees from LSU. It’s not their fault their dad lived on the golf course.

This was nicely written minus the “all in”. Pretty sarcastic thing to say after what’s come out regarding Kelly’s day-to-day activities around the program.

Kelly did leave the program better than he found it but I think everyone, including him, are excited to move on.

At the end of the day, Brian Kelly simply did not fit in at LSU. He is a good football coach, but I think that he realized that he simply was not going to bring us to a championship level. Unfortunately, I do think that he kind of bailed out on LSU at the end, because he just did not want to be here any longer. Good luck to him though and to his family.

I didnt take it as they settled on price at all.

Just a simple farewell to Tiger fans. Might be a little late, but I get it and appreciated it.

Some of yall are STILL falling for this absolute pandering phony.

This bitch will tell you exactly what you want to hear - he’s made a career off it.

If you don’t think this drunk little Irish bitch cursed this state and everyone in it the entire time he was here, you’re lying to yourself.

Pretty classy letter. Of course, he'll get a lot of hate on here, anyway.

I gotta admit, though, it does kind of read like when someone says "It's not you, it's me"

This “he did not fit in” mantra is such bullshite. We’d be in the playoffs if he cared half as much as O and Les.

Kelly knows how to coach. He’s just old and apathetic.

Agreed. I mean it’s been what a week and a half?

It’s a classy enough letter I guess but it’s at the point it’s almost more awkward to post it

I don't know all the reasons Kelly never achieved success at LSU. I think it's more complicated than "he played too much golf" or "he went to Florida during the bye week" or "he didn't embrace Louisiana culture". For all of his failures, he did have a part in the 2022 Bama win (for those counting, Bama wins are are hard to come by) and Jayden Daniels. We all expect more than 10-4, and we should, but the last few years were probably better under Kelly than they would have been under O (or Lincoln Riley). In the face of vitriol from the fan base and hit pieces from the media following his dismissal, he delivered a classy farewell, which he didn't really have to do. TYFYS, BK, and enjoy retirement.

I think this has gotten lost in what have been a wild couple of weeks. BK did not build a championship caliber program, but he did immediately turn a dumpster fire back into a respectable program.

We let him go at the right time. He has put us in a position where the next coach will be starting with a very stable base in terms of talent, and there doesn't seem to be a major culture issue within the program given how quickly Frank has been able to re-energize the team.

I don't really like Brian Kelly, but he's not leaving us in a place where we have to dig out of a massive hole, at least.

Why does Brian think this means that they settled?
