It's common football knowledge that you run when the box is light and you throw when the box is heavy. He's not giving anything away here...
Here are some more LSU secrets IF you can keep your mouth shut and your fingers off the keyboard:
When LSU passes, the QB will probably be the one to throw the ball . . . most of the time.
LSU usually uses bigger guys on the line to block and speedier guys on the outside to run routes.
Most of the time, not always but most of the time, LSU will have eleven players on the field.

BK talks a lot of coach speak. He isn’t giving anything away here.
This is why I find coach interviews utterly boring and worthless. I change the channel when a coach interview starts bc it’s pointless.

That was the point.
He basically said “Nicholls sold out to stop the run, so we threw the ball. If someone sells out to stop the pass, we’ll run the ball.” It wasn’t some sort of shot across the bow or deep insight, he was just making a point about taking what the defense gives you.

It pains me to see so many posters in here not understanding common football principles. The Spread Offense or any offense for that matter will take advantage of the numbers game. If the box is light (5 or less defenders) Then most of the time it’s automatic run. If teams are stacking the box then you take advantage and throw it. This was all Brian Kelly was eluding to
