Idk how he’s done recruiting, he keeps trotting out wastes of space like Major Burns and Sage Ryan. I certainly hope the HS players he’s recruited aren’t as bad as they are.

He (well his assistants) have recruited well enough to replace Burns and Ryan 3 times over.

What's his excuse for being ready for a simple zone-read offense?

It all starts at the top. Kelly didn't hire quality coaches when he first arrived and is constantly back filling coaches. In addition, under the existing transfer policies, he will have to bringing in players that will leave LSU early. He appears to be a massive miss hire.....

This. Can't run, can't stop the run. shite on Les Miles if you want, but his teams could run, and usually stop the run.

I believe they are and I believe they hit all the marks in practice and I also believe the majority of this team is not sec caliber.

That should be enough to fire with cause if he really thinks that team was "prepared to play".

He's not involved in the day to day affairs of the team or game planning. He expects his assistants to run things almost entirely independently of him.

What I don’t get is the difficulty we had with Milroe. Did we not learn our lesson with Reed against A&M?

It seems that coaches who prepare should understand how to fix weaknesses, which in this case of course is defending a mobile qb. But we had no solution.

Is this on the players? Do we not have the talent? Even if so, the blame falls on the coaches for putting a subpar product on the field, for playing an inadequate set of safeties (and others) all year, and for not getting them ready despite all the shortcomings.

And those are just the problems on the defense…

Vandy did it. We definitely have more talent than them

Some is poor play selection but since 3rd quarter of A&M quarterback is missing reads a lot. Lots of plays last night he tried to force the ball into coverage ignoring shorter open routes. I don’t know why they can’t run block better though. Actually last night looked like 2020.

We got blown off the LOS.

Yes we need more talent up front to stop that style of offense. We better be willing to go get it in the portal because Kelly does not have the coaching acumen to out scheme the other coaches in this league.

After he thought we’d beat FSUs arse I figured he either has no idea how to evaluate what he currently has, or he just isn’t connected to the team during practice. Maybe both!

Assistants seem to be able to recruit but unable to coach players up during the week and on game day. Coaches seem to favor seniority over ability!

Weeks was barely involved until he had no choice but to play him. Pulling Durham every time we are in the redzone is criminal. Having a surprised BK after every big game collapse shows a lot. He’s beyond disconnected.

It’s like everything he highlights in the spring and summer are shite. Unsure how he can keep not putting in the work and not feel like a POS as fans are booing you.
