I can't tell if the OP thinks this is good or bad.

It’s a good thing. Unless you’re a fool or a troll.

This is the Nussmeier rule. NCAA does not want to kill the bowls with opt outs with no backup available due to RS rule.
Curious if that applies to CFP games. It should not.

Sam played better than Burns and Ryan

All you stupid SOBs need to go back to evaluating talent for your kid's flag team. This is excellent news for us. These guys will work better together and grow as individuals. Every guy gave exceptional effort even when the defense faced challenges - losing DL coach, losing Brooks, two immature a-hole CBs who flopped, a coordinator who was consistently outmatched. We fricking won 9 games, stop dogging them. They could have been better and now get a shot at redemption

Linebacker was a problem, especially Speights

It was really just Speights

I know. I was lol'ing about the eligibility question.

His LSU bio lists a senior season (2021) at McNeese, then a super senior season (2022) at Marshall.

There are several guys on our defense who could walk right into the NFL and not just make a roster but play. Perkins, Wingo and Penn are three. I suspect that J Jefferson is another.

Penn is not walking into the nfl and playing

How is having all of the defensive players returning a good thing? Do you really think the lone reason the defense was horrible is coaching? Coaching contributed but it isn’t the only reason they sucked.

Yes, but how does one get excited about 10/11 starters returning on what was the worst SEC defense? It was not all coaching.

This reminds me of the old joke...

We went 0-11 this year but next year the whole team is coming back!

Yean...is that really a good thing...?

I don’t get it. Matt House might get a pass this year because we had such bad players, so the answer is the run it back with the same players and defensive coordinator? It just doesn’t make sense to me.

Yea, because the biggest issue imo was none of these guys really played together or in this system

The biggest issue is that none of them are really good

Pretty sure he means the ones with eligibility so I think that rules out Sam and Speights. I take it as a positive if we get a new staff that can develop some of the young DB’s and LB’s. It makes me nervous that we will keep rolling Burns and Ryan out there but I’m hoping the young guys can win those spots under a new DC.

A&M was beating their chest before this year about how they were returning their entire oline who were terrible in 2022. Well, they were probably worse this year.

I really hope Major Burns does not start next year. Watching him flex, talk trash and celebrate after getting beat over and over again was pathetic. I have no idea how someone can lack that much self awareness.

No, the bigger issue is that many of them are not good football players at this level.
