Ole Miss is capable of winning a national championship in baseball. That’s not an excuse for Bianco.

It's still Ole Miss

Skip had no prior relationship with Mainieri before he hired him.

Wrong. Skip has known Paul since he was 11 years old.

I would agree on the recruiting to Ole Piss. I mean they have some hot chicks but other than that it's not a destination most kids want to go to. Bianco doesn't get the level of recruits we do so he has had to develop them a lot more than PM. Still don't think he or KOS are the right guys for us but I'd prefer Bianco over KOS.

Ole Miss has a top 10 class every year and multiple #1 classes and Bianco hasn’t done shite with that talent

I have a good friend whose father in law is a big Ole Miss alum. Gives a lot of $$$ and knows the right people...they are praying today that we take Bianco!

I have to chuckle when I hear this because it's not that I can't believe it, but because Bianco is responsible for winning every regional title they have in their history, he has taken them to 17 of their 24 total NCAA tournament appearances in their 100+year history, he won their first SEC tournament + regular season title in 30+ years, he got them to their first CWS appearance in 40+ years and the attendance has gone from like 1200 per game to now 8500 per game as it has become one of the top 5 atmospheres in all of college baseball with him there.

He built the program into something that people actually give a shite about. It's their best sports program. Before him, they generally sucked for a long time and went to like two NCAA tournaments in 20 years.

In this case I believe he is Theriot’s mouthpiece.
In my opinion SW and/or Verge has planted all of these “done deals, down to 2” candidates to throw off the real hire and find the leaks.
When he was hired and his hires made you learn when you they happen or right before, not this slow drip all over the place.

Well, both being Miami guys, I’m sure that could be true. I didn’t make that connection.

Should be McDonnell, Godwin or Schlossnagle

I love this board. It’s never going to be a good pick on here. Even if it were a good pick one series loss and the board would be calling for him to be fired. A national title can be won and just as easily forgotten the next season.

I posted this in another thread but I guess it applies here too:

I don’t know that Bianco would be one of my top guys, but I could still get behind him.

As fans we only tend to look at the win loss record and post season success, but you have to look at the entire picture. I remember a thread from earlier this season talking about how well Ole Miss has developed pitchers and field players vs how a lot of guys here just appear to be stagnant.

Take recruiting classes, over the past 5 seasons Ole Miss has on average brought in the 22nd ranked recruiting class in the country. If you take away their 2nd ranked class in 2019 that number becomes 28th. LSU has been 6th in that time span, with 3/5 being in the top 5 in the country.

Ole Miss has done a really good job taking lesser talented players, and developing them into really good college players to the point that their program is arguably (maybe undoubtedly) in a better position then we are currently.

This isn’t even close to being true. Look at my post above. Ole Miss has only had 3 top 10 classes in the last decade.

You have no idea how wrong you are. Bianco makes players better. PM put talent on the field and hoped for the best. It is difficult to recruit across the country to Oxford, MS. They were nothing prior to his arrival. I don't think it will be Bianco, but he is a great coach.

Signs a Top 8 class every year and finishes Top 8 once every 20 years

The post season Biancollapse is coming as they say in Oxford

For Matt Moscona to be the face of BR sports radio, I think the only coach he's close to is the softball coach...I wouldn't listen to the guy

Bianco is not a championship caliber coach. Hire the best coach possible…not a friend of the program.
