Best bet I'd make is nobody will be throwing a shoe. Pretty certain that will never happen again in CFB.

How do Long Island and South Florida measure up to LSU's first two opponents?

Now I don't know anything about Long Island. They could be a potential playoff team, but right now they're an unknown quantity. South Florida has had good teams in the past.

Team with a top 5 quarterback, that beat us last year and is a historic rival. No one is taking them lightly

If I've learned one truth in life, it's that anyone that uses the term "easy money" has lost a lot more than they've won.

Confident, sure. Easy, no. shite, in the last year alone, TD is probably a combined 1/1000 on "easy money" bets.

LSU lost to them on the road last year. They will beat them down hard in DV this year. It might be a close game but they're not losing to Florida at home. I think you have it the other way around. They should be worried about LSU because that's a prime game where all the transfer portal chemistry finally comes together.

Anyways, that's all I had to say. We typically live by narratives, and our narrative of the Florida Gators has been that they have been our whippin boy since Meyer left, but objectively, on paper, the program is in the best position it's been in probably since Meyer won the natty. So, those of you that do preseason betting, UF is 7.5 o/u with _+120 going to the over... which is easy money even if we beat them.

You are severely undervaluing what a charged home environment with a vet quarterback can do in the SEC

they may match up well on paper, but all the intangibles and qb position are in our favor

I would argue about the QB position, don't get me wrong Nuss is good and glad he is our QB. Lagway is a dual threat and that adds another element the defense has to guard against. Last year we preformed terribly against any team with a running QB. I'm hoping we have those kinks worked out by now

And you are confident we can block them this year?

If they can block Clemson, they will block UF. If Clemson DL dominates, UF will have a pattern to follow.

Clemson and UF have very talented WRs and a QB. Clemson will tell us enough to know how Vegas will view the UF vs LSU matchup.

Personally I’m keeping an eye on Mateer and Oklahoma. If that works out then the season finale in Norman could be a barn burner between Mateer and Nuss with a CFP/SEC CG appearance on the line.

I agree. I see Mateer and OU at Norman as a very difficult game.

I think after losing to UF on the road last season, LSU will be locked in and take care of UF at home. I think aggie will be a tough game too, but Nuss atones for a bad performance last season and LSU wins in the end.

I expect a lot of close games this season, but a much improved defense allowing LSU to finish out games.

Wow, do posters here get paid by the length of the post? Didn't bother wading through your verbose post.

LSU beats Florida....dominated them in the stats last season but lost on the scoreboard. 'nuff said!

I'm more worried about Clemson week 1.
