If you can stomach it watch the power hours Carter’s 15 minute condensed review of our defense. Don’t come in this fricking thread and talk about turnovers blah, blah, blah. Take the mfering 15 minutes to watch the play calling and then let me see you defend Blake. Don’t worry he didn’t even cover the soft zone prevent on last drive.

In Sum, Baker never gets the big stops, there were some really bad holds but the defensive calls were horrific overall.
Did you know that Kentucky ran the same plays back to back to back because we failed to stop it or adjust?

The great American hero is really a zero. This should be his last year at LSU. He is not terrible but no where near elite. And like Carter says it’s not just the stops but when you get them and against who. And we don’t get the key stops against the good offenses and good teams ever with Baker. It’s getting too rare, particularly in key game deciding situations in key games.

Weeks and some great platters like Delane etc have been hiding how bad the coaching really is.

Baker is a good guy, and everyone likes him. It could be much much worse, I remember Lou Tepper. But he needs to take a HC job or something. We will mever ever win a Natty with Blake. He has greatly improved our defense and he deserves thanks and credit for that, but watch the damn film review and it’s obvious, and there is no argument. Carter is right, we aren’t well coached on defense.

The lil TE Flat (assuming some RPO) was hilarious to watch go for over 25 yards 3 plays in a row. Even when we adjusted the defense on the third time they ran it in a row it still hit for 5 or so.

I just dont see a world where LSU invest 50 million on a roster, has tons of dudes in the front 7 that are gonna play at the next level and we cant make stops against fricking KENTUCKY

I do think his time is up at LSU. When your defense consistently craps the bed in every big game we have then it’s time to mutually part ways.

I think it was the offensive play calling that hurt us the worst. When you know that your o line is getting smoked, you have to get the ball out of the QB's hands quickly. When we did it worked, but we did not stick with it.

You watched it too. This lose isn’t on thr players, this is on the coaches.

The shocked dejected look that lane gave at the end of the game was he’s come to the same realization that the rant has, Baker is not the answer. He’s a problem. lane fricked up and trusted him. I don’t think we’re gonna see that shite again.

This is basically the old Saints defense they look great all game but if you were counting on them to stop somebody in the last drive to win a game, you are totally totally totally fricked cause it almost never happened.

This is such bullshite. Baker’s defense got the first three stops of the second half. Those weren’t big?

Twice our QB turned the ball over and Baker’s defense got the stops. I guess those were small?

This game was primarily an offensive problem. We can’t go on the road, in the SEC, and turn the ball over twice, then repeatedly fail at the end of the game to get first downs.

Kiffins brother is the co-DC whether you like it or not. So making changes might be tough.

Baker and the defense are not perfect but they have been good enough for us to win.

The offensive line and offensive play calling are the reasons we have 2 losses. We couldn't get a couple of first downs against KENTUCKY at the end of the game Saturday night to close it out. That's not good for a team being led by offensive geniouses.

I don't like him. He's stealing millions from LSU. Either he can't get the players to understand his "system" or we just have players not smart enough to learn.

I'm sure Joe Sloan likes him.

Again, end of 1st half was utterly atrocious. He got bailed out on 2 missed chip shot FGs.

The final drive in regulation was some of the stupidest playcalling that I have every seen with the circumstances. You are playing a team with 1:45 and no timeouts, but they only need a FG. What do you do? You play DBs 15-20 yards off the WRs and let them just shimmy it on down field in no time, and LSU is lucky they didn't lose in regulation to a game ending TD.

Baker is a moron at the worst possible times. You want to reward him for his adjustments, when he puts his teams in the hole early because of atrocious game plans. His teams are not forcing turnovers and are allowing way too many 3rd and long conversions.

Ole Miss game is a perfect example of his stupidity. He actually shifted to things that were working in the second half. What does he do on their last drive? He goes back to what didn't work for the entire first half and they score and end up winning.

Baker is a fraud, and we got screwed over by him not taking the Tulane job.

Did he? Wasn’t one of then after a turnover and defensive stop? I can’t remember the other one was a after drive or similar.

This past week was simple. Press man against the worst WR corps in the SEC with your NFL CBs.

We did the complete opposite of that and it cost us.

One of those was off a stop right off a turnover that gave UK the ball inside the 25. I don’t think they made a positive yard that drive. That’s 100% a great defensive stand.

Any time you can force a FG instead of a TD, it’s a win for the defense, especially on the road. The fact that the kicker missed was just a bonus.

Neither one of these are a knock on Baker or the players. Some of you are just allergic to context.

The drives at the ends of the halves ARE on him. That’s legit. Going away from what worked, especially on the game-tying drive, was really bad. There’s no excuse for it.

You can drop 7 or 8, but still mix coverages and play man with Safety help. If you play zone, there has to be pressure and as good as Prince is, he’s not elite enough to do that rushing just 3 or 4. If you aren’t going to commit 5 to pressure, you can’t just drop into base Cover 2 or 3. What we did only works if there’s 30 seconds and no TOs left, not over 1:30.

Man I can get behind stops after the INT and FG. Again, credit where credit is due.

At the same time, theyshould’ve gotten stops in the second half. Hell they hardly played in the first half since the offense held the ball for a full quarter and a half. Still gave up two really bad TD drives in the first half.

I also don’t think the bar for one of the highest paid assistants in football should be “he can get two stops right after halftime”
