Look, Burrow is my 1a overall...
But Daniels went from 1 look and running (to maybe okay results) to being able to actually read the field and run when it made SENSE.
His football IQ went up in sconds.
Burrow was just so much better ALL AROUND that he takes the lead.
I saw the man throw a pass to himself not once, but twice.
He was just next level his second year. 3rd and 17 embodied that year.
So many broken plays turned to gains.
It was the defense that doomed Daniels to forever 1b. Gotta do it all to be it all

Austin Deculus went from being a turnstile in 2018 to a very effective reliable tackle for 3 years then getting drafted.

Duke Riley improved vastly his last year

It's hard to say Burrow made a bigger leap than Daniels. I think Burrow had it at points the first year but not consistently. Daniels didn't have that same level (even just for parts of some games) the first year.
If you want to say the leaps were the same then I won't argue with you. And I feel like maybe I shouldn't even mention it in the first place, since they both became undeniable superstars and maybe the two best players ever at LSU.

think Mathieu (albeit truncated) made that level leap. Shame he couldn't see it though
I feel bad for anyone who didn’t witness or understand Tyrann’s FR year. Year 2 was expected on some level. Those expectations were high because of all the other DB’a before him…he went so far beyond what was imagined

Naw I think you’ve got to give the edge to Burrow. Half the rant shitted on both their 1st year starting at LSU.
That means Nuss is a lock for Heisman

Tashawn Bower
Terrace Marshall from year 1 to 2
Nick Brossette
Kj “Lookout!” Malone
Craig Loston
To name a few
ETA: my father and I used to joke about Malone early on in his career letting the DE run right past him and him yelling “LOOK OUT!” as Harris/Etling gets drilled over and over

It’s not hard at all. Burrow had a bigger jump. 16 TD’s to 60 and a NC.

Jamarcus - thought he’d improve from 05 to 06, but man what a leap. I’d never have thought he could complete 68% of his passes over a whole year.
Justin Jefferson
0 (ZERO) catches in 6 games as a true Fr to easily being WR1 as a sophomore with 54 catches and 850 yds. And of course he went nuclear in 2019.
Nick Brosette
Less than 100 yds rushing in 2017 to 1000+ in 2018
Duke Riley
Jalen Collins was scared of contact until his last year then he became a bit of a special teams demon and sure tackler

Burrow made a bigger jump than Daniels. But the question was besides them.
I think this is not the same thing though. Burrow just needed some experience as he had never started before and really came on those last couple of games his first year starting.
Daniels had been starting for 4 years already, so it wasn't an experience thing with him.

Queen wasnt his fault. Some players just turn on a switch when they hit the field. I had a kid in peewee amd a buddy that i played with in HS they both sucked in practice. It wasnt bc they were lazy etc. They just got beat by scrubs in practice. But when the lights came on and it counted they were extraordinary players. Weird
