I believe they said during the Clemson UF game yesterday that it hasn't happened in the modern area. The last time it happened was in the 1940s when the CWS was only between 2 teams iirc what they said. They mentioned George HW was on the Yale team

Wonder if an SEC team has ever made it to Omaha while being swept by the worst team in the conference?
Isn't that where UF is now?

Well Auburn is the team that finished last, Mizzou was 13th. Mizzou was also 12th last year and swept Tennessee who made it to Omaha, I'd say that's pretty similar.

A lot of us just enjoy college baseball. It sucks that LSU isn't playing, but I watched a ton this weekend still and I'll watch the CWS as well.
It took me a week to get over the LSU loss. Finally decided to tune in yesterday to watch Florida game to root against that trash. That was one hell of a game. It still stings that LSU isn't there, but there have been some really entertaining games. I'll be interested in watching CWS mainly to pull against Tennessee, Florida, and A&M, hoping they get knocked out. That's the motive in watching now I suppose since no Cinderallas made it.

UF is going to Omaha.
Ton of talent. Had same hangover as LSU, and took a while to get going. Every team in the SEC is good and nothing matters until the last 3 weeks of the season. Just hang in there and get it going at the end and you're in. I can't even read the Rant during baseball season b/c the vast majority of posters don't have a F'n clue about baseball. Ole Miss and Miss State should be examples of finishing hard and not how you start.

Surprised anyone is still watching once LSU was eliminated. Won’t bother watching a pitch from that point forward.
For this reason, you are qualified to show up and cheer for LSU, but not qualified to have an opinion on whether our team (or any other) is good or bad. You have no basis from which to have opinions.

How the teams play is how you form those opinions

I’m still surprised we lost to North Carolina. That is one unimpressive national seed. They’re damn lucky!

Four of five of SEC teams in Super Regionals win and advance to Omaha. Half of CWS teams are from SEC.

UF to Omaha is my biggest surprise.
As much as I hate to admit it, Florida is a dangerous team right now. They have as good of a shot as anyone to win it all. Damn, I hope they don't! Even though that's the team I have in our luck of the draw CWS pool.

It’s an excuse but sucks we front loaded our draw with North Carolina while Florida got a weak Oklahoma state and a weaker national seed in Clemson. Ironically got punished having a lower two seed than a top end 3
This is hilarious considering when the pairings came out people were circle jerking all over the board saying we got the best draw possible and that we were a lock for Omaha. Now that it didn’t come to fruition Florida got an easy draw simply because they won the games they needed to win (how convenient to make the assertion that they got an easy draw) to get there. In reality their draw was just as tough if not tougher than ours. If LSU and UF swapped draws and Florida still made Omaha and LSU got knocked out by Ok State or Clemson people would still be saying we got the tougher draw and Florida got a cakewalk.

I’m not that surprised about UF. They have an assload of talent and really underperformed all year. It’s a roster fully capable of beating anyone.
Surprise was state failing to advance.
Arky going out the way they did was a surprise. Also UT having to go to game 3 to win the super

I was most surprised that LSU got so close to hosting a Super because they came really close to not even making the SEC tournament. They did play well at the end of the regular season, but most of the season they couldn't win a series if their life depended on it!

Surprised anyone still watching after LSU eliminated? LOL. We’re called baseball fans, sports fans, SEC fans, etc. Go cut your grass this weekend while we watch CWS.

Honestly, surprised LSU was able to play as long as they did.
