Almost two years since his wife’s death, Ensminger still wears his wedding ring. He wouldn’t take it off for months. Now it hangs from a gold chain around his neck. Carley wanted Steven to pursue the coaching career he sacrificed for her. This was where he’s supposed to be.

It’s the first Friday night of high school football season. Ruston High at Neville High. And Ensminger, the new quarterbacks coach at Ruston, was about to take part in one of Louisiana’s oldest rivalries.

Still breaks my heart. Great to hear that he’s doing the best he can with the life he’s been dealt.

I hope the manager of that plant who wouldn’t let him off to watch his dad coach in the playoff hasn’t had a peaceful night’s sleep since.

Damn. Can't imagine. Seems like that's thing that, despite being awful, can sharpen a man to be great if he lets it.

My heart breaks for him too. She was a BEAUTIFUL young lady, and seemed to be an absolute sweetheart, and I'm sure a great wife. Sometimes life just isn't fair.

Correct. Our trials are supposed to make us stronger but, damn, just damn it I don't know if I would be strong enough to keep on going after a trial this devastating.

Hold strong young E, you came from a strong family and hopefully the pain will only be a dull ache once enough time passes.

Why should he have gotten preferential treatment? Vacation is frozen for process operators and supv. from Dec 22-Jan 3. I missed a lot of christmases working at that plant. He knew it when he took the job. The person who hired him was one of the biggest LSU fans I’ve known.

yeah that’s not how it works bruh. Jobs like that don’t let people take vacation then. Everyone knows that when they start working there

you are so right. It sure isn’t- I can attest first hand regarding the loss of loved ones way too soon.

I feel like that story got lost in the whole shuffle with all of the other 2019 storylines. Such a sad day and both Coach Ensmingers deserve nothing but respect for the way that they handled this. They will always have a spot on LSUs sidelines.

What’s with all the down votes? The Man’s just telling us what the company policy is & that it doesn’t bend to give preferential treatment to ANYBODY!

The Reggie Bush thing got me. Package deal When that dog passes it will hit him like a ton of bricks as well. Got to be hard in love and planning for the future and then it just ends on what should be one of the greatest weeks in your families history.
