Its not surprising to me at all that the people trying to excuse OBJ's actions and place all the blame elsewhere are all noticeably far left wingers any time they post something relating to politics. That's just their mindset. No responsibility for their actions.
You are 100% wrong.
Super conservative here. We aren't exactly excusing his actions. They just aren't worthy of charges given the action and circumstance.
You're acting like he punched the guy. Players slap arse all the time. It's a silly celebratory thing.
My goodness. As a grown man, is that really disturbing you enough to press charges?
We see people fist fight and not press charges. It was a stupid act, but then kick him out. Warn him. Do something if it's a problem. Don't come crying days later over it.

This incident involves two horribles humans. The security guard who is a little bitch and thinks he is a cop, and OBJ who is a little bitch who wants everything to be about him.
OBJ can afford to be horrible.
I once asked a security guard why they had to try to enforce every rule. Response was that if they didn't they would be fired and they couldn't afford that.
Maybe OBJ should have offered him a years salary instead turning him into the whipping boy in front of the whole LSU team.

The DA should have laughed at this clown & told him to grow thicker skin.
By law, he can't. What Beckham did is, by law, simple battery. There is clear proof of it occurring. While the security guard is a certifiable bitch, if he chooses to press charges, the DA shall oblige.

Sneaking up on a security guard or police officer and slapping him on the but for any reason is downright stupid and disrespectful. OBJ being drunk and celebrating doesn't justify it at all.
Go celebrating down Bourbon and slap a security guard or police officer on the butt in celebration and see how that works for you.
I have been getting drunk and doing stupid things in New Orleans my whole life, some really stupid. I have encountered any number of policemen along the way and thus far managed to stay out of jail. At my drunkest I knew the consequences of laying a hand on an officer.
I get the whole "a slap on a butt" is a nothing thing. What I don't get is how many people think laying a hand on a man in uniform doing his job is ok.
I loved OBJ at LSU. I still like one side of him he is different and exciting to watch.
But his judgment the last couple of years had been off the chart's bad. There were what, a hundred or more people in that lockeroom? How many managed to have a good time without slapping security people. It was clueless. I know this will get downvotes on this thread, but almost everyone of us on here has the common sense not to do what OBJ did.

OBJ is a dumbass and deserves to be arrested as stupid and petty as it is. Maybe it will knock him down a few notches and get him on the right path. It probably won’t do shite but one can hope.

I will have a problem if the police chief is doing a press conference later today like this is a real issue.
I wouldn't doubt it. Our state & local officials are well known for such foolishness.

I’m not defending what OBJ did, but what the hell are cops doing in the LSU locker room? Looks like they were just being dicks and harassing the LSU players who were just having a little fun. Turns out, smoking is not prohibited in locker rooms anyway. I wonder who told the cops to go into the locker room, or did they just take it upon themselves?

There have been a depressing number of people here the past few days who have no problem with the way OBJ acted and seem to celebrate it.
Being rich and famous doesn't give you the right to humiliate those you feel are beneath you, especially people just trying to do their job.
People aren't "ok" with the way he acted all night. The speech interruptions especially pissed me off. The cash hand-outs were beyond stupid, as was this spanking of the security guard.
That doesn't change the fact it is ABSOLUTELY ABSURD to arrest the guy over this. The city clears like 30% of their homicides and they're going after a dude for spanking a security guard in a locker room celebrating a national championship.
Odell is a dumbass and should be banned from LSU's sidelines for a bit, but come the frick on.

I have little doubt that the security guard is a gump so he was going to harass everyone he could. Or a Texas a&m Aggie. Either way, I’m glad at least SOMEONE is holding OBJ responsible for something. I stated yesterday that if I were him I would have hauled OBJ to the slammer. The security people should have been just standing back and making sure no one got hurt. Let them celebrate (except for OBJ who hasn’t won a dang thing)

He won't even be held an hour before he bonds out on this misdemeanor. You can feel however you want to about OBJ but this is a complete waste of time & money for all parties involved for a slap on the wrist.......I mean slap on the arse.

I think OBJ went overboard, but I also think we never should have heard a damn thing about what was happening in the locker room.
I mean, what happened? Did someone bring in ho's for a gang-bang? Did they trash the place? Was it a Van Halen-style party?
NO.... he, a media superstar and recent alum, came in and passed out victory cigars and 'made it rain' for the kids, after the biggest season ever. Somebody quietly should have been chaperoning that, saying "hey don't take any money" etc.
Instead this power-mad little psychopath is exceeding all stereotypes. You honestly couldn't sell this script to TV, it's so ridiculous.

The police shouldn't just pick and choose which laws they decide to enforce and look the other way because "famous person", especially when video of it is all over national news. They had no choice but to respond.

I would never wash my uniform pants again if OBJ graced me with a light spanking.
