What if it was just a substance abuse issue?

I don’t care how talented he is. He’s already quit on the team...twice. Let him go. He clearly doesn’t want to be here. Would be awful for locker room morale.

I agree. Putting one player above all those who stayed to compete, didn't break the rules, and actually want to be here is a slap in the face to those other players.

It always amazes me how many grown-arse men fawn over these players because they may or may not play for their favorite college team and may or may not do well/benefit the team. If you have to kiss a 19-year-old's arse and sugar coat everything on a message board just for the prospect of the kid to play for your team, the player isn't worth it. Let's move on as a fanbase and team. We won without him and will in the future. One player doesn't make or break the team.

Who are you to speak for the fanbase? You still have no idea what actually happened with him and how we arrived wherever it is we are at with him currently. If he wants to be here now, he's coming back, and you'll cheer for him. You're a liar if you say otherwise.

You must know some behind the scenes stuff about Arik GEAUX5, but you don't do you? We have no idea what he is going thru so why are you speculating and calling the kid a cancer? Everyone has their own situation to deal with. I'm so glad that you know what he is going thru. Just give the kid a break man. Admit that you don't know and shut up.

I guess that's why he said he is "verbally" entering the transfer portal.

I think he had a destination determined and he was "verbally committed" to a school and hadn't filed the paperwork. Then realized that his destination school would get busted if it came out that they recruited him before officially entering the portal.

I know for a fact his mental issues are serious. Not anxiety or depression, something way more complex. Cut him some slack. He’s just a kid going through a lot. Based on what I know I totally support him leaving at moving a lot closer to home.

I'm all about calling kids out when they deserve it, and the fact is he does for quitting on the team.

The things we don't know are the reasons why? Everyone forgets this is an 18 yr old kid, although he is in the body of a grown man. Just because he appears to be a grown man doesn't mean he has the same level of maturity as one.

Remember back to when you were an 18 yr old kid and all the stupid arse decisions you made at that time. If he is just having emotional\mental problems cause he has never been away from home, maybe we ought to consider cutting him some slack. It's possible he learns from this and grows up and decides he is returning to play for good.

In any case, none of of really know what is going on with his mental state, but it is a fair point that he is an 18 yr old kid and obviously may have some maturing to do. Maybe he returns maybe he doesn't, but regardless I hope he learns from this and begins to grow up significantly.

This. When I was a freshman at LSU I spend all of my paw points on easy mac and coke (the drink) in two weeks. I couldn't imagine what I would have done with that much responsibility.
