Jefferson has potential to be a problem and the Hawgs have a solid group of receivers. State is probably better on defense.

KJ Jefferson has looked really good to start the season.

They are virtually identical in passing stats so far. ! pass completion difference between their completion percentages.

Will Rogers 33/46 71.7% 389 yards 8.5 YPA 5 TDs 0 Ints

KJ Jefferson 31/42 73.8% 382 yards 9.1 YPA 5 TDs 0 Ints

I think Will Rogers might be better than KJ Jefferson. But with that being said, they aren't using Will Rogers like they should so I’d say I’m more worried about Arkansas.

If our defensive line doesn’t start playing sound gap football and our linebackers don’t start doing a better job in run fits, we’re going to have problems with both of these teams. Coupled with our corners being a liability, I’m worried about them all.

I'm concerned about first things first MSU.

Arkansas no doubt. They are well coached and always a difficult game for us.

True. However, I wonder how much the timing of the game had to do with that? This will be the first time LSU has played Arkansas outside the month of November since Arkansas joined the league in 1992.

MS State would have been if Leach was still around.

I tend to disagree. The only time Leach embarrassed LSU's secondary was in 2020 when Orgeron decided it was time for him to release his remarkable defensive mind on the rest of college football. After promptly getting embarrassed, MSU/Leach really didn't do all that much against LSU in the next two seasons. And the 21 and 22 defenses weren't particularly great defenses in their own right. With Leach, you knew what you were going to get. It was just a matter of if they could out execute you and get to to make enough mistakes to allow them to hit some big plays.

Definitely State because they are next, but also because our defense hasn't played a full game all year. State likes to run the ball and Grambling ran on us early in the game, despite having far less talent. If we don't sure up our defense, better teams are going to make LSU pay and we're going to find ourselves playing catch-up the whole game because the defense's inability to stop anyone.
