I’m fine with a slow progression

I expect 8 wins this season. I don’t think that’s unreasonable.

From that, I expect progress. I want an sec championship within 4 years and natty within 5 hears.

I don’t think that would differ too much from what Kelly expects from himself

Since 2003 everyone expects to be 12-0, 10-2 at best. Doesn’t matter who the coach is. Our fans are unrealistic every summer.

It's hard to think that if Les & O can win a title that BK can't

Les should have won one in 2005. Tennessee was gut wrenching and the SEC championship was a head scratcher, both Russel and Flynn looked awful and Georgia probably played their best defensive game. That was a good LSU team. I'll give a first year coach a pass on that though.

Also 2011. if the mullet doesn't shite the bed Les wins another Natty then too. Just a few things go different and Les could have had 3 NCs at LSU, imagine that (though I am not one who thinks Les was an awful coach, just that he seemed to loose focus at the wrong times).

I think BK pulls out at least one of those missed opportunities.

So yeah, I think BK probably wins at least one at LSU. This will be an interesting year but very difficult to predict. The FSU game may give us all a little more insight.

I am cautiously optimistic in a way I have not been since pre season 2011. Because if I am honest, 2019 was uncertain to me until after the Texas game. Then the Florida game sealed it for me.

BTW, keep up the good work on the football news and recruiting.

We had no bye week because of Katrina, the SEC championship was understandable to me.

But yea, there's no reason not to expect great things from Kelly quickly. He surely expects them more than we do

Expectations that LSU will be competing for an SEC Championship and National Championship THIS season are too high.

Expectations they will be at that level within the next 3-4 years aren't.

LSU is the only school in America who can say that over the last 30 years or so (maybe longer) they have had three different HCs all win a National Championship within 4 years of taking the job. For his part, Brian Kelly has won at every school he's been the HC. Combine those two facts and it is entirely reasonable to think Kelly can win a NC in the next 3-4 years. Hell, THAT'S why at 60 years old he took this job. HE has those same expectations.

Bro. Just support the program no matter who the coach is.

I am guessing 8-4 in 2022. I will be satisfied with that given how bad we were in 2020 and 2021.

Giving a guy 100 million dollars will raise expectations…it’s up to him to earn it.

Let's see how Kelly faired against Saban

The 2013 Discover BCS National Championship Game was a postseason college football bowl game that took place on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. It featured the No. 1 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish and No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide.[4][5][6] The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 42–14 for the national championship and took home the Championship Trophy.
