Good for him?

So you think it's unreasonable to wish a coach well when it's time for him to move on?

He doesn’t throw his name in the ring for mizzou, arky ole miss but decided on UNLV???

This is what I don’t get.. Arky hires an OL coach, Mizzou hired App St’s coach.. You would think Aranda would’ve been in the mix for those two if he really wanted a HC job.. UNLV is just an odd choice for him..

UNLV is committed to investing money now (the Fertitta brothers specifically)

UNLV is about to be playing on a brand new NFL stadium being shared with the Raiders.

UNLV is a challenge for sure, but that takes some of the stress away from having to have immediate success.

Head Coaching gigs don’t come along everyday, and nothing is guaranteed from one year to the next.

Vegas is awesome.

Lest we forget Bo Pelini took the Nebraska job before the National Championship game. He did coach in the game but maybe the d coordinator dying on the cross is required for LSU to save us from our sins and win it all.

Didn’t Pelini do the same with Nebraska before the OSU title game???? Or was it after??

If he wants to be a head coach and they pay him well, God speed. I simply would not want him to leave for a lateral move.

If you're on the staff of a playoff contender, you can't wait until the season is over if you're looking to move on.

You negotiate, accept the job, and move there in January after the playoffs. That's what will happen here, if this happens.

Pelini did take the Nebraska job but that’s before the ESD, which is next week. Aranda would need to hire a staff and recruit in the next 8 days while trying to prepare for OU. Different situation

If he goes to UNLV he is an idiot. He will get much more exposure as the DC at LSU than being UNLV head coach. If he wants a head coaching gig so badly then he should wait for a good opportunity to come around. Not UNLV.

Why would Mizzou or Ole Miss hire Aranda when there were far more viable alternatives to a DC that makes 2.5 mil a year. Aranda has never been a major college HC.

His name doesn’t come up for Florida State, Ole Miss, Missouri, Arkansas, hell, even Memphis, but now he’s finalizing a deal with UNLV for a huge pay cut?

What makes you think he was even on their radar? Did any of them end up signing a coordinator for their HC jobs?

Awful timing. I'm gonna be so furious if the defense plays like shite against OU.
