I know it’s cool to say “they suck” and they might.....but you better believe they gonna have as much Cold Beer as possible in that stadium

So unless it’s beer, they’re completely retarded?

They don’t want anyone throwing full beer cans or bottles. It’s a liability issue.

they would never serve bottles in the stadium. they do however serve water bottles. is there really much difference throwing a full water bottle and a full beer can? maybe a little but the liability reason given doesn't seem to be a solid one IMO.

Keep in mind LSU is proceeding with this major undertaking with only two months to get ready.

Also remember the stadium and current concession stands were not designed for beer sales.

Logistics is complicated. You have to get a cold product to your patron in large quantities in just about every corner of the stadium.

I’m predicting issues but better service next season when permanent steps can be taken.

This is fricking dumb. The people in charge of making decisions manage to frick up every single thing. What is so hard about just handing a can of beer to someone

Uhh, SEC policy says that alcohol must be poured into cups:
quote:

Alcoholic beverages are to be sold and dispensed only at designated stationary locations;
-Alcoholic beverages may not be sold by vendors within the seating areas;
-Identification check is required at every point of sale to prevent sales to minors;
-Alcoholic beverage sales are limited to beer and wine only (no hard liquor or mixed drinks may be sold in public seating areas);
-Limits must be established on the number of drinks purchased at one time by an individual;
-Alcohol must be dispensed into cups;
-Safe server training and additional training for staff to handle high risk situations is required;
-and Designated stop times for sale and/or distribution of alcohol must be enforced as follows

Wonder what the odds are on them running out of beer the first game. 90%?

Maybe because the people drinking water are less likely to be drunk than the ones drinking beer?

I think it's more about image for the SEC. They'd rather see cups in the crowd shots than plastic beer bottles.

I'm expecting a huge cf. Not because of Aramark but because of the pour policy. That's going to back up lines.

Well, one is metal and the other is plastic, so there's that.

I don't have the slightest idea of how beer sales and supply would work, but how come the university won't leverage their relationship with Mockler Beverage? Is there even a relationship with Mockler Beverage?

I’ll wait a year to get mine.

The worst part is the beer lines will block off traffic to get everywhere else.

Can you imagine how long it will take for them to pour beers? Was a draft line just too much to ask for?

I Manage 7 large Venues in the US. I have personally fired Aramark from 5 of them.

Aramark runs the Minute Maid Park concessions. This girl was about to take our order at Shake Shack when the national anthem started playing. She stops and says she can’t work while it plays. I thought sure that’s fine and turned towards the field. Everyone else kept taking orders. 3 people behind me places orders while this went on. The team leader walks by and I asked her why I was the only one who had to wait and she said that girl likes to be difficult and they sent her home right there.

If you are talking about the Miami-Florida game that game was not played at the swamp. It was in Orlando so they are not subject to the sec rules.

They just found out about this two months ago. Not enough time to hook up kegs for draft beer throughout the whole stadium. Have to be able to store and keep the kegs cold. I am willing to bet that is something they will look into beyond this year but for now they are just trying to get the beer to the people how they can.

You guys and your concession hang ups. I eat and drink so well before and after the game, stadium concessions is an absolute non-thought. Honestly, the only times I've ever thought about them have been driven by the obsession of this board.

WTF?

If you can't sit in a major sports stadium and have a cold beer with NOT stale nachos w/ warm cheese, NOT stale popcorn and a nice freshly steamed hot dog then I don't want to live in the country anymore.

I was told by someone on the ABC board that LSU needed 8,000 servers to get liquor licenses. I have a feeling it's going to be a nut roll until they can work out the kinks. I'm carrying for the foreseeable future.

People need to realize that whether it’s Aramark or another company, they will all be near fully staffed by temporary laborers. Uneducated Ex cons, drug addicts, homeless/very very poor people. This is the only way to fulfill the large number of workers on game day

That is not true at all. Aramark's business model is to be the low bidder for services. In order to make that work, they have the lowest payroll. Aramark is known for this. Just recently the Titans had to fire them mid-season because workers just stopped showing up. The new vendor (Legends) is LIGHTYEARS better, but it is just more expensive.

There are plenty of vendors that hire better quality laborers and produce a better product, they just cost more.

ETA:

Also, it isn't just the workers. It is the management. The people that handle supply chain and logistics aren't minimum wage temporary laborers. They are more to blame for not stocking the stadium properly, which is half the problem with Aramark.
