Does this mean we can’t call for more tort reform next legislative session?

Yes, let’s just assume Boutte is a mercenary with no allegiance or loyalty to LSU at all.

Hate it to break it so some of you but most of the guys that will get these NIL deals done aren’t going to be altar boys

Holy frick who thought a personal injury attorney would be the guy to start slamming 7 figure NIL deals for LSU
Well while great for him and all…kind of shows we’re severely outgunned in the NIL game

I’ve got mixed feelings on this not gonna lie.
I don’t know all the facts. But on the surface it seems like KB, or maybe even those around him, floated him going to Bama. This then forced LSU to up the ante and pay him.
I’m glad we secured him, he’s a great player. But this feels like extortion…
It’s hard to get excited about someone staying when just a year or 2 ago they would have had to stay or sit out a year… times have changed

Technically he’s just using our outrageous auto insurance premiums so it was actually a team effort.
this... much like politicians buying votes with taxpayer money

It’s very sad that this is what things have come to. All this means is that KB was ready to throw away his allegiance to LSU for some quick cash despite his NFL future being one short year away. Not a great look

And you know this, how?

It's sad and I hope adjustments will be made to rectify the (completely foreseeable) consequences of this madness. In the meantime we have to play the game as it exists.

We also don’t have an OC and our QB hasn’t played football in 2 years and he may have wanted to make money, play with the reining Heisman winner and make sure he maximized his chances of being a high draft pick.
We have other issues besides NIL money.

The state of college football. Players will simply be mercenaries.
