He ran a designed qb run earlier in the year and ran with authority, don't know what you been watching. He's had a bird's eye view all year long of how it's done. I think he takes up some of those intangibles (maybe not to the level of Burrow, but nobody can) that Burrow was so good at.

I think with the weapons he won’t be a total bum. Just need to see him come out confident which I haven’t seen yet. Even in his 3rd year he just hasn’t looked comfortable

Am I the only one who thinks it’s an insensitive thing to say while Miles Brennan is standing at the event and hearing the coaches comments?
At the very least, it can’t do much to bolster Brennan’s confidence

Yeah, we probably shouldn't even recruit another qb until Brennan leaves campus. We wouldnt want to hurt his confidence.

For fricks sake, some of yall are idiots.

How long does Brennan have? Maybe Coach is thinking farther down the line.

And what do you think Burrow was considered? Pro style, dual threat? That shite didn't matter, he obliterated defenses and wasn't considered a dual threat, that shite is over rated. Look what happened to Jalen in the semis.

That wasn't due to Jalen though.

He’s still not big enough to withstand hits regularly, too

Burrow is 6'4 216

Brennan is now up to 6'4 207. He's noticeably bigger.

I don't think 9 lbs is going to make that much of a difference. He'll likely add another 5 lbs in the offseason.

Do you really think that's that much of a difference?

More than Burrow’s avg per game in 2019 (24)

Burrows per game was 38.6 ypg on the ground.

This isn’t MS high school football

You go from being one of the best athletes on the field to the 15th beat athlete on the field at given time

27ypg in high school doesn’t make you a dual threat

No one said he was. You questioned his mobility. Watch his film. He's mobile and can run if needed. He actually slides in the pocket and still makes throws down field. That's what you want the QB (one of Burrow's best traits) to do.

Brady came from the Saints and installed our O. Brees isn't Lamar Jackson as far as I know.

Where in my post did I insinuate we shouldn’t recruit QB’s? My post is about publicity campaigning for QB’s.

LSU didn’t run the Saints offense. Some pieces but it was much more of a college offense from the time at penn stare under joe Moorhead

You can talk yourself into Brennan being a factor in the ground. He’s just not that dude. But that’s why you’re a “fan”. Short for fanatic. You talk yourself into this stuff. I don’t involve my emotion

But he's not considered a dual threat or ultra athletic guy, it's about knowing "when" to run and that is why Burrow was so effective running. What made Joe great had virtually nothing to do with his running ability.

I was hoping after the Natty our fanbase would become a bit less retarded.

Wait until next year, the first time the offense struggles ... the retardism will be ramped to a whole new level.

No I look at all the variables and make an assessment. That's why I thought Burrow would make a big leap this year despite nearly half the rant saying otherwise this offseason. I know the competition in MS wasn't great, but the throws were the throws. Watching him make throws under duress and keeping his eyes downfield are better traits than I've seen current CFB QBs. He needed to develop physically and he's done that.

IDK if he's mentally there or not, this offseason will tell. He wasn't SEC ready when he got here, but that doesn't mean he won't develop. I'm optimistic he will/has. We'll see.

He made another comment about needing a QB to replace Burrow earlier during the event.

Come on, man. We just signed 2 QBs and aren’t getting another one in this class. Anyone we recruit now will be coming in to replace Miles after he graduates.
