Who hates him? I love O, but he wasn’t the best choice. Of course no one can take 2019 away from him but, ultimately, his 2020 & 2021 pushed us to where we are today.

Our money people

They aren't putting their money up for salaries and bonuses and NIL if they don't like the hire. They're all going to want to have input. That's why I think it'll be Lane. He checks the most boxes other than Lanning, but I don't think Lanning comes here without a massive payday and I think he'll be a mistake. I don't know why, but I feel like eventually he ends up in the NFL.

You and O should get a room, lol.

Ron Zook shouldn’t have been fired in 2004

Ron Zook was an idiot who confronted a fraternity at their house on campus. Fratgate.

BK hire was good.

No it wasn’t. I’m the same age as BK, and I’m telling you that the energy ebbs in a man my age. There are rare exceptions like Donald Trump, but even Nick Saban was fading as got older. Kelly was 59 when he was hired and given a ten year contract. The odds of that contract being bought out in failure, before it ended when he was 69, were very high.

True but it shows a willingness to move in a different direction and that took big balls.

Love him or hate him, Landry and Fat Scott pulled this off somehow and were more than likely going to be better off.

This whole Landry being involved thing is so stupid.
The money people who PUT Landry’s arse in office will make the decision.

You think Lane will be any different. Of course Ole Miss dont have Oregon money but you truly believe Sexton isnt licking his chops ready to start the bidding war.

Fans whined when Kelly got his contract, well get ready cause if you want Lane it'll be much worse of a contract

I never said Lane wouldn't get paid, but he's also made money and he understands that taking a little less could in theory go towards keeping him at LSU longer. Does he play it that way? I doubt it, but if I were a coach i'd put my cards on the table and say, yea I'll take $5M/year plus heavier incentives as long as the boosters aren't shy about NIL. You win, you make bank, you don't and it's out of your hands.
