Fact is, Myles played the 3 worst teams in the SEC and is 1-2

The only reason we were losing games was the defense.

He threw for 430 yds, 4 td, 0 int in his last loss... While injured. I'd say we didn't lose because of qb play.

I hope the talent and depth at QB becomes like Ohio St 4 years ago. Max Johnson could end up as someone’s else’s “Joe Burrow”. Hope not, but time will tell. Like everything I’ve seen in Max so far. We are finally building high quality depth at QB.

I didn't say we lost because of his play at QB, but he had 2 of the last 3 possessions in the game and LSU came up with nothing. If I'm not mistaken, LSU might've went 3 and out before Missouri's last score. The only real criticism I have of Myles his play on 3rd down. He's bad on the most critical down, he had opportunities to keep the offense on the field and a defense we know that's awful off the field. His numbers are great, but on the downs that count the most, he underperformed.

He did more than enough to win. When you put up those numbers on offense, the defense has to be godawful to lose... And wouldn't you know it, it's horrendous

Brennan is starting next year. End of story

Not so sure about that. At the end of the year, TJ will have more starts and experience than Brennan. That is the reality. In fact, This weekend will be his 4th start, which puts him +1 over Brennan. By the end of the year, if LSU plays UF and Bama, along with Ole Miss, Finley will have 7 starts. Brennan is likely going to have surgery and be coming off and injury.

So going into the Spring, I would say Finely is the the leader in the clubhouse for the starting job, Brennan 2 and Max is 3rd. I think Max stays here through next season and then goes into Spring 2022 and sees where he is on the depth chart. My guess is he will likely transfer at some point, that is the reality at the QB position which is why it is always a good idea to sign 1 every year (rather than 2 in one class).

Just think about this ... Brennan stuck around, waited his turn, threw for 430 while gutting out an injury... and there are some arguing for the THIRD string qb. It's unreal

Brennan, Johnson, Finley. Two of the three will return. If I had my choice, I am not sure I wouldn't pick the two freshmen.

It depends on how Finley plays. Just because he started 7 games doesn't mean he played well. For his part Brennan played pretty well in 2.5 of his 3 starts...albeit vs. lesser competition than what Finely will (presumably) face. If we get closer to the Finely vs. USC and Ark the rest of the way, then I think LSU ABSOLUTELY goes into the spring not knowing who their starting QB is next season. Brennan would have to compete for the job because like you said, he would have the least GAME experience of the two.

If the season ended after the Arkansas game then I think you go into the spring with Brennan as your clear #1 guy. But these next however many games LSU plays will give Finley (or possibly Johnson depending on if he plays) a chance to make their mark.

I don't disagree with you about the defense, they're terrible. But you can't have a terrible defense and a terrible 3rd down offense and expect to win games.

He played well enough to win 2 games, LSU has won 3. Right now, with a sample size of 3 games each, I would say Brennan was consistent in all 3 games, Finley had 2 really good games, 1 clunker. So I think at this point, Brennan would start the spring as 1, Finley 2 and Max clearly 3. But over these next four games, that could change, if Finely keeps playing well and getting better each game, I think he goes into Spring with the edge.

Regardless if I am Coach O, I say when we start spring, every position is open. Nobody is entitled to anything. Open competition for all 22 starting jobs.

If the offensive line doesn't get a push or protect, don't blame the QB for not making the play.

No. The question was about transferring. If you could read you would be able to comprehend I talked about this season’s last 4 games first then the next 3 seasons.

I didn’t say anyone was leaving this season. I was making the case that he could possibly be starting this season if Finley is injured which greatly reduces the likelihood of him transferring after the season. Do you have a learning disability?

I don't think you have to worry about that! Other than Stingley and Gilbert I don't think anyone (who likely will return) has secured a starting position with their play this season.

Hope not. But if he's the Burrow to Haskins then so be it. Everyone did pretty damn well.

If MJ is a Kyler Murray to whoever the hell was at A&M then not so great
