I think this kid has a tremendous upside, but the reality is he's the third string QB at the moment. With Brennan returning next year, it doesn't appear anything will change going into next season unless Finley has a major collapse. I really don't want to lose him, but something tells me he's not going to sit around another year hoping to get a shot. Add Nussmeier to the equation and it's going to be a very crowded QB room

If he’s only good enough to be #3, why should we care?

Burrow is white and from a well off family and everyone loved him.
You remember the same folks calling for McMillan to be the starter Burrows first year? Because I do. Hell some even wanted Narcisse to get a chance. Where’s he at?

Did we not just go through this same thing after the South Carolina game . You saw the auburn game right. Arkansas had no defensive players in the game A&M does. We have no offensive line they will kill Finley with the blitz . Johnson will play in that game as well as the other games on the list. These last 4 games they will blitz us like there is no tomorrow. We will be lucky if we don’t get our QB’s hurt before the season is over.

I like Finley’s confidence, arm strength, and pocket mobility but I don’t know how anyone could say definitively he’s better than Max. Max has hardly played. He looked good in the moments he was given. I mean Finley just barely beat the Arkansas JV squad.

Frankly anyone pushing for Johnson after what we’ve seen from Finley I wonder what the agenda is.

Do you really, though?

Was that the story when Trevor Lawrence took over for Kelly Bryant? Why does it always have to be about race?

Doesn't matter. Both Johnson and Finley are just placeholders. This will be Nussmeier's team after Brennan leaves.

Most likely will happen. I think Finley having gotten to skip beat downs by UF and Bama will keep the job and battle Brennan in the offseason. Unfortunately, I feel we are losing the better of the three in Max, and I think time will prove that theory right

I've been to a few Marcus games this season to see Nuss play. Kid is very impressive. Has some Burrowesque qualities.

You really think Brennan would leave? That's interesting. He's waited so long for his chance that I'm thinking he's staying around,

It is definitely not certain that Brennan would beat out Finley come Spring.

These days, We simply cannot have 3 -4star guys vying for the starting job.
Someone is going to transfer

I expect that it will be Johnson.

Well, those of us that saw the Auburn game don’t believe that any cake is baked just yet.

Yes. Right now I think the team belongs to Finley. If he plays well in the final games, at best it’s an even playing field for qb competition. TJ would have more starting experience than Myles. Of course, this depends on TJ performing well.
Brennan will have plenty of opportunities to transfer if he wants.

I won't go that far, but if Myles was 3-0 I don't think there would even be a discussion on whose the starter next year. Fact is, Myles played the 3 worst teams in the SEC and is 1-2. TJ played 2 weak teams and an elite team, he's 2-1. Now I don't blame Myles for the 1-3 start, but his 9-39 3rd down conversion has a lot to do with it. Some of it is play calling, but Saturday the offense had double digits conversions. Against State, the game was tied and LSU did absolutely nothing on offense. Against Missouri LSU had the ball before Missouri scored their last TD and did nothing with it. These next 4 games, I expect LSU to finish 1-3 with TJ starting, do we think with Myles the record would be better? Based on what we seen this season, it's only fair to have a QB competition.
