Anyone else uneasy that romero isnt in the lineup

Yeah. I was especially uneasy last night when were down by one to the #1 team in the country with national seed implications on the line and somehow Dawson and Wofford found their way onto the field instead of Romero.

Fact! Pap has always been better than Romero behind the dish, but recently Romero must have lost confidence. He went from bad to worse, and CPM had no choice but to put him on the bench.

Unless CPM sees something at practice, Romero needs to be used rarely at catcher. The coaches choice for Romero is between he and Bryce at DH - and Romero is 1 for his last 18.

I'm telling you, something mental went wrong with Romero. It's not surprising, either, he's shown a compulsion of some sort with his inability to throw the ball to the pitcher early in the season. Hopefully, he can put it behind him.

CPM is adament about not using sports psychologists, and I generally agree, but this is one case it might be helpful.

Not me. "Uneasy" is an odd choice of words. I get "uneasy" when I drive north of Florida Blvd. in BR. I get "uneasy" when the doctor tells me it's time to check the prostate. I don't think I will ever get "uneasy" over a baseball lineup.

Thought the same, especially in the 9th.... Guy has posted good numbers, albeit with a recent dip, but still provides infinitely more pop than Pap. Would he be a better option at DH than a Jordan twin?

Pap has always been better defensively, and right now, I'd say offensively as well.

A little bench time can be good for a player. Time to refocus.
He has plenty time to get back in the line up before Omaha.

Remember who was catcher when Lange got back on track and had his best back to back performances since last year? Coach even told the media that Romero's presence behind the plate was one of the reasons that Lange had performed so well. People have short memories. Romero f'ing carried the team for a month.

As for the last couple of weeks, Romero has indeed slumped a bit at the plate and his defense Tuesday was inexplicably horrible. But look at the season stats for BA, RBI, HRs, slugging %, etc. Every player has slumps.

The pitching started getting better when romero was inserted in the lineup full time.
