Anyone else thinks 1 of our QB's in 2011 was championship worthy?

Excuse my ignorance but I for one am sick and tired of hearing about our upgrade in quarterbacks for 2012 season. I just hope Mett puts up the quality numbers in 2012 that Lee did in 2011. If he does that LSU will be just fine and will probably win the BCS title in 2012 - just like they should have done in 2011.
I know it's Gemanicide but Lee was deserving of play in the BCS title game. Miles and the rest of the coaching staff obviously had a serious collective brain fart in that game and one can only hope they agree with us that a lesson was learned and that embarrassement from a coaching perspective will NEVER happen again.
Lee had 1 really bad game the entire SEASON and like they say timing is everything so Jefferson benefited from Lee's ill-timed misfortune and got the starting nod for remainder of season. Lee's past history against Ala. certainly didn't help so I can see where Coach Miles and staff were hesitant on giving him another opportunity despite Jefferson's ineffectiveness. Enough already on that...
My point is that all the ink seems to be about our amazing and super upgrade in QB play for 2012 from 2011. "Not so fast my friends" to steal a line from Lee Corso. I for one appreciate every snap Jarrett Lee took for this team in 2011 and I have no doubt that if he were given the reigns against Ark. and Ga. and Ala. (round 2) LSU would be national champions going for a 2nd straight title instead of Ala.
Keep in mind that Jefferson could very well have come in and saved the national championship game like he did the regular season game if Lee were to have stumbled early again. However, something tells Lee would have played brilliantly and LSU would have won in grand fashion. To me Lee was simply awesome in 2011! Hope he has a great professional career in football when given the opportunity just like he did for the LSU fighting Tigers later in his career.

That's good. I feel better now.... I assume you agree with my venting. Just trying to slow down the haters..... QB was not our issue in 2011. Handling of the QB situation was.

Lee wouldn't have saved you from the determined Bama defense on 1/9. He would've gotten you across the 50, he wouldn't have saved you.

Really Again with this.... Look neither JJ or Lee could ever read a defense both failed. Yes i know Lee had 13 td to 3 int's. But the facts are we NEVER had to pass until Alabama.... So they we not exploited.... Go rewatch the games When we got introuble we Ran the ball... Lee or Jefferson could not help looking at one Reciever... Which Alabama exploited. i like lee and he will always be a tiger and i wish he would have played but he didn't get over it and if you can't tell that Mett can at the least get to Passing read #2 you are blind.. Lets try and move on already.

Seriously, shut the frick up. Last season is over. We had a great year and had the best record in division one football. This has been discussed literally thousands of times on this board. You really think you're breaking new ground here, Dan Rather? I hope you get dick cancer.

5. Don't listen to Gumps- they are as confused as we were over LSU's game plan or lack of one

i think lee scared the shite out of miles in the 1st bama game. he probably had flashes of 2008, so he decided to stick with jj. the only thing i have to base how i think mettenberger will do, is what i saw in the spring game. based on that, and based on how lee played in previous spring games, i have to say mettenberger is a huge upgrade. we can argue about it, but only for 33 days

So what if Miles would have stayed with Lee in 2009 and 2010? It's over. It was frustrating. Let's hope with Krags the QB's will be a strength in the future.

This is true. If we would have 1/2 of a quarterback for the past 2 years, we would have won at least 1 NC.
