This weekend was my first time there. That might be the coolest city I’ve ever been to. Super clean, great night life, great food. I wish we got to play Vandy more, that was my favorite away trip I’ve taken including Austin.

Super clean?

You were on vacation and didn’t see the other side.
People begging all over downtown.
Too many people on Broadway. Beggars parked up right where everyone is walking and the cops don’t move them.
They need to close Broadway on weekend nights.

I like Nashville. Surprisingly though, it has an extremely bad crime rate.

It would be an even better trip though if Vanderbilt wasn't terrible and they had a fan base.

I wouldn’t mind living in the Nashville area. In fact thinking of making that retirement spot. Find me a nice piece of land on the edge of the Smokies and a short driving distance to Nashville.

The Franklin/Brentwood area just south of town is fantastic. Real estate is high (and getting higher) but it’s clean, safe, has everything you’d ever want, only 20 minutes from Nashville, and the best schools in the state.

LOL. Short driving distance.....The traffic is terrible around there for the size that the city itself is. There's a lot to do though....

Every liberal city in the country is like that now.

The population grew by more than 100 people per day between 2010 and 2017. So yes, the idea of moving to Nashville has occurred to lots of other people.

I live outside of Nashville. It’s a great city. I never realized how trashy Louisiana is until I left

It's a great city but the secret has been out for a while. Real estate is exploding so you're probably too late

You're describing basically every medium to large city. The bums like good cities too.

This.

I’ve been thinking the same thing.. after living in TX and LA for decades, i’m sick of the heat and ready for a change... whoever above said that Nashville gets “really cold”- that’s hilarious.. i guess if you’ve never ventured outside of South Louisiana, Nashville might seem really cold at times.. but the winters are actually mild, and the best part is the summers (while it can get kinda hot) aren’t nearly as hot and humid as TX or LA.

Another great thing about Nashville IMO is the geography.. you’re less than a day’s drive from the nice beaches on the FL panhandle, but also not super far from East coast beaches and other cities like Atlanta, and even DC and NYC (i love road trips).. the state of TN is really pretty as well.

My experience with the OMV in Knoxville blew me away. Clean, efficient and super friendly. After using the Kenner DMV as a kid this was a pleasant surprise.
