Nashville is cool but the naked guy and the meth girl sleeping behind Hattie B’s on Broadway today still reminds you it’s another city. Now, If I could score a home in Brentwood.....

Nashville today is what Atlanta was like 25 years ago, very cool town. Atlanta.....not so much anymore, and yes I live in Atlanta to attest to this statement.

Yep. Lives here since 83. Started in Gwinnett county. Good schools, safe, clean suburb with no traffic.
Not so much now. Continue moving further away and it just follows.
You never feel like you’re far enough away from Atlanta, yet Atlanta become too far.

I agree with you. Outside of San Diego, it’s up there with my favorite cities.

Had an opportunity to buy a really nice log home on 20 acres around 8 years ago in Leipers Fork . A good friend has 100 acres and built a new house and wanted us to buy it . Stayed in Austin

like Nashville. Surprisingly though, it has an extremely bad crime rate.

Like every major city in Louisiana lol

Per capita tax burden in Louisiana is 46th from the top. Tennessee is similar but is 47th. Both are low tax states.

Was recently through there after a couple of days in Ashville, NC for work. Good Lord, ASHEVILLE is the place to go for retirement. Not to dry for those of us from Gulf Coast and temps are really mild. So many damned trees you cannot see half a block away. Knoxville looked rather dirty driving through it.

Memphis AREA forget about the entire area. With a partner in Texas was thinking about opening up a business in Memphis due it being such a transportation hub almost convenient for clients from a whole lot of places within a day's drive. So, while talking with client company president and asked him about our thoughts of locating there his answer was, "Mississippi is more business friendly. No one wants to live near Memphis who is productive, not even northern Mississippi." "We do have no state income tax but Mississippi is better." The company had manufacturing in Mississippi and half a dozen other states.

I was northwest of Nashville at Old Hickory but that was almost 20 years ago. Beautiful area too.

As for as scenery, best place I've been was a pre Civil War distillery in Kentucky that was being torn down. That little valley had a nice stream running through it green grass but you cannot see it in aerial photos due over hanging trees from along the edge of the valley. It would be a great place to be away from anyone.

As for SoCal, frick that place. I had an apartment on the beach for 2 years. Being from Louisiana the lack of trees began bugging me after 6 months. Far to many phony people there too. It's as if everyone is PC subconsciously hoping to be discovered by Hollywood. At least in early 90's most seemed to be from places like Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, New York, etc.. if you know what I mean.

Great town. I lived there for a few years and have never once met someone who lived there for a while and didn’t love it.

It would be an even better trip though if Vanderbilt wasn't terrible and they had a fan base.

I always enjoy the trip, this was my third time to see LSU play football, fourth overall.

One overriding theme, every time I go several folks ask me what all the LSU fans are doing in town. I'll say here for the game and they'll either say "what game?" or "oh, you must be playing Vandy", cause honestly no one seems to give a shite about Vandy football there. Same thing all 3 times.

Been thinking about it for years. Not much in oil and gas in Tennessee though. I may have to switch professions

I know a realtor from there.
They are making more money than they can spend on the real estate housing market.
