Anybody else surprised by THIS much doom and gloom?

Was it a frustrating game? Absolutely.
Do we have some things to clean up? Sure.
Is the o line looking line a source of frustration yet again? Yeah.
With all that said we put up 45 and over 500yards of offense while having our first team defense give up 0 yards.
~275 yards of offense in the first half.
Should we have come up with points Yeah
All that to say we have been through much worse in that stadium.
Do we have some things to clean up? Sure.

No doom and gloom from me. I’m just genuinely confused at how we looked like a well oiled machine in week 1 and didn’t in week 2. The discipline and attention to detail seemed lacking compared to week 1. And that’s what was so impressive in week 1.

I mean a win is a win plus La Tech had over 500 yards last Saturday. So we’re pretty good. I’m still confident this team will do really well this year.

People got way too excited after the victory against a bad Clemson team. And the first half last night was really bad. It was a classic week by week overreaction both times.

I think the doom and gloom is based off of the expectations of the new coaching staff.

This is what concerns me the most. I get that it's tough to get excited about playing LA Tech, but teams typically improve a lot between weeks 1 and 2, and we didn't look good on offense at all.

LSU vs Western Illinois Week 4 in 2003
We were up like 13-7 at half. I remember quite a few turnovers and fumbles too.

At all is a little extreme, cut those turnovers out and we’re much happier today
Most of what I saw is correctable vs. prior years when it was more, to borrow a phrase, hope and pray for improvement

You ever felt kinda low or foggy the week after a super awesome thing happens? The same thing happens to football players because they are humans after all. Their systems hit the afterburners for the big opening game and biologically, they are spent. Recovery debt and over arousal of the sympathetic systems take a toll. We can feel depleted, hazy, mentally cloudy and struggle to lock back in the week after a highly emotional opener which is why schools like to schedule a body bag game the week after a big one or the week before a big one, which in this case fits both.
It’s just biology. We can talk about complacency and coaching buzzwords all we want but football players are human and as such are subject to human limitations.

Only inexperienced fans would be melting. The defense is off the charts. They will give us an opportunity to win every game.Very vanilla offense and Leavitt had bad 1st half. But rather have some things to work on creating some urgency than to roll 70-0 and go into OM with the big head. I trust Kifffen and Weiss to have it worked out by Saturday.
