Dude, LSU fans have been shitting on Myles for the last 5 years for all different kinds of reasons. There’s still fans that don’t want him. I’m not saying he’s proven because doesn’t have enough game time. But in the 3 games he’s did start, he threw for 370 yards per game and 11 TD. There’s a lot of reason for hope with him.

Hopefully the O line is good or we'll be seeing what Howard is made of sooner than expected.

Let’s not forget the many under throws by Max due to lack of premier arm strength. Good qb and fighter but no Brennan.

The result was great but that throw was nothing more than a hope and a prayer.

And are we to actually believe Max has never made a throw like the one Myles made in that gif? Easy deep throws with plenty of time against a bad defense and a DB who completely whiffs in a game we lost is the standard?

It’s all emotion, all the time around here with absolutely no sense of reality.

The max johnson hate on this board is absolutely retarded

The dude was playing with a gutted line, with a lame duck coaching staff.. you cocksuckers think that everything is just like NCAA14 and you can just ball out in spite of all the odds being against you

Max got his arse handed to him repeatedly, and he kept fighting during the season. Not sure why this board can’t respect that

Brennan was 10/19 (53%) on passes >20 yards downfield in 3 games last year. He attempted ~6.3 deep passes per game.

Johnson was 14/45 (31%) on passes >20 yards downfield in 12 games this year. He attempted ~1.2 deep passes per game.

Deep passes over the middle of the field were a staple of the offense in 2019 and in 2020 prior to Brennan’s injury. Brennan was 6/7 on passes >20 yards downfield between the hashes. Johnson finished the year 4/10 on these throws, and he only attempted 1 in the first 5 games this year.

Sure, Max completed some deep balls. I don’t think Max is a bad QB. But you can’t compare the deep ball between the two. They both have strengths and weaknesses. Deep throws were definitely Brennan’s strength.

I don’t understand where this myth about Mizzou came from. They were 5th in the SEC in passing defense in 2020. They were by all accounts an average SEC defense. Brennan went 29/48 (60%) for 430 yards, 4 TD, and 0 INT in that game. 8.96 yards per attempt.

If you want to talk about performances in games we lost, how about Auburn in 2021? They were 12th in the SEC in passing defense. Johnson was 26/46 (57%) for 325 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT in that game. 7.07 yards per attempt.

Or how about Ole Miss in 2021? 9th in passing defense. Johnson was 13/21 (62%) for 146 yards, 0 TD, and 1 INT in that game. 6.95 yards per attempt.

This cuts both ways.

I’m not going to pretend I didn’t want Max. His results were underwhelming but the staff sucked and the OL wasnt great. All I know is he had his shot at beating Bama and went back foot high on open WR’s.

Brennan worries me because of lack of mobility, other than that he’s great.

I just do not understand the constant crapping on our players. No one is harder on themselves than the players. The coaching staff is largely responsible for the last 2 seasons. They are gone. Lets look forward.

And it was a freshman LT going against one of the best DE's in the SEC in the A&M game, which is hardly an ideal match-up. Poor kid was on his arse most of the time.

Joe set the standard at the QB position at LSU. What I want from Brennan this year is some of Joe's pre snap recognition and ability to check into the right offensive plays. That is next level stuff.

If defensive coaches make adjustments, it will be up to Brennan to first recognize those adjustments and then check into a more favorable offensive play. In CFB 99% of the defenses are not going to play cat and mouse with you like it's done in the NFL. If Brennan can recognize defenses, then is given the authority to audible at the LOS from the coaches, and then changes the play at the LOS, from the start that is winning well over half the battle on each play.

Given the fact that Brennan will be the most mature player on the team and at the the QB position who CBK looks like he has surrounded him with some more than serviceable OL talent, Brennan needs to take the next step up in his game and that's the mental part. Going into the season every defensive set has to have a counter and Brennan needs to know those counters flawlessly before the spring is over. That will be his and the offense's foundation going into the season. However as the season progresses know that defensive coaches will adjust and so he has to respond through the week by being diligent in the film room and flexible and calm enough to make counter adjustments during the game.

One thing that makes me sick is to see an out of position defense pre-snap and an offense that does not take advantage of it. Good Lord, I hope Brennan can read defenses to perfection next season.

27 TD’s to just 6 int’s is not indicative of someone who sucks.

He wasn’t great.

He definitely didn’t suck.

He was an average game manager and that's what he'll always be. He made a good throw to win A&M and absolutely whiffed at the end of the game against Bama. His arm talent is pedestrian, but he's a very tough kid and can get a couple first downs with his legs.

With a good OL, I'd much rather Brennan. I'm thinking our OL is going to be pretty damn strong next season too.
