Anybody else feel like they don’t have to trash talk?

In years past and maybe some earlier this year, I would participate in a little trash talk. However, coming into this game, I see Clemson posting stuff and twitter. “We are the really Death Valley” “LSU’s defense has given up this or that against Vandy or whoever” and so forth and I’m over here not commenting, smiling to myself saying none of that matter cause LSU gonna whip that arse.

I enjoy trash talking in person, whether that be playing or watching.

Trash talking is for the fan themself doing the trash talking. The older I get the more it seems to be more of a tool for them to deal with their own uncertainty about themselves and the game/program than anything else. Nobody plays the game on the internet. The friendly jab here and there is fine, but when people go on another team’s site and act up, it’s really pretty childish, and shows a severe lack of maturity on their part IMO.

I don't understand talking trash to opposing fans...ever - especially for a game that I'm not an active participant in.

Discussing the game, teams, players, etc. - sure, all day long. But to talk trash? For what purpose? To make them feel like their team won't win? To make me feel like my team will?

Our battles of wit and words on here impacts the game nil. So, no matter how good you are at talking shite - you are not contributing to a win, or loss, one iota.

That said, knock yourselves out...

All that matters is whether we actually win the game on the 13th.

I'm not a big trash talker; I hate the taste of crow.

ETA: I don't expect there will be any crow for LSU fans this year, but that's just my policy.

Same here. I generally stay out of the TT threads. I am superstitious and I generally get my arse handed to me when I do get a little overly bold.

As a fan, I prefer to let my play on the field do the talking.

I prefer to be talked trash to, then just smile as their legs are knocked out from under them! lol, its fun to read a lot of the crap posts too and try and figure out the age of the poster which in some cases is very surprising.

It's been interesting visiting their boards. The most in depth they get is "believe in Venables" or "Bama last year . . ."

After that, it's "trailer trash coonasses" and sundry trash talk gibberish nonsense.

Hard to imagine another team having more points than us at the end of the game so more about watching for fun now. Nothing to fear or hide like say Clemson who knows a good game by our D will spell a blowout.

Yes, what’s the point we are not playing. Fans adding locker room material, way to go.

In all honesty, excited for the game. Great match up. Clemson is a good team. The whole who gets Death Valley is stupid. They used Death Valley first, tiger rag was ours first. We both use them, who cares. If they were a rival I can understand getting more upset. Let’s just play football!
