Y'all are crazy. Where was Derrick Henry week 3 last year in the heisman talk? Christian McCaffery? If anything we learned last year is that Heismans aren't won in September.

For him to have a shot LSU has to keep winning to where we get to great bowl, or if we can get some luck win out and get to the playoffs.

He has 135 yards in his first game and missed a game.

10 more regular season games where he will have tough running in 2 of them. So 8 games x 150 yards = 1,200 + 135 = 1,335. He gets 120 vs Ole Miss = 1,455 and then he needs a GREAT game against Bama to have a chance for the Heisman and we need to beat them. I say he gets 100 yards min and makes up for last year because we will pass on them and he breaks one huge run and grinds to about 130 yards = 1,585 = 144 YPG. If he has a few 230 yards games then he will have about 170 more yards added to his total = 1,755 = 160 YPG, close to what he had last year in which he missed the opening game due to canceling for weather.

Since the Heisman is awarded Dec 14th, no playoffs count so if he misses the playoffs it might not hurt him if he plays well against Bama and the tougher defenses.

So, yes he has a chance at about 1,600-1,700 yards and he plays well against Bama, and they only lose just one more game. They win out and he plays well, its his trophy.

Of course. Just look at last year. Nobody was talking about the winner 2 games into the season

I hope, for his sake, that he doesn't have to put up 200 yds per game unless it's on big runs. Hopefully etling will allow us to be more balanced on offense.

Thought he was the lock to win it in July. Guess things change. Lamar Jackson, or JT Barrett or Christian McCaffrey well ahead of him now.

Based on his performance tonight, no.

He may get an invite, but that Louisville QB will run away with it

I don't think 2* fumbles and a mediocre night of running will get him there. Every time the camera pans to him, he seems disinterested in the game.

No chance, and I agree: it seems like he doesn't like not getting the ball every down and not being the Heisman front runner.

Sadly I don't think it can happen. Great LSU player - future Hall of Famer - super person off field. Glad he is at LSU.

Nope. The media drives the Heisman hype and have found several players to get behind this year. Honestly LF can't compete with the numbers they put up anyway even though he is the best player.

We play South Alabama in November, and Eli McGuire ran for 220 against them Saturday. Maybe Fournette can make up for a missed game that night.

I'm not sure if it's the injury or what, but he started to break one and guy just slapped his foot and he fell. He's got to have those long TD runs to be in the hunt. Doesn't matter what he may do on Sunday's. Heisman is best college player and right now it's Louisville's QB.

Slim chance and he would have to put up monstrous numbers against better competition. Never can tell though, last year it was Fournette's for the taking halfway through the season but by the end of the season it wasn't close.

He hasn't had his Heisman like game yet and that might be the key.

No. They no longer look at an individual's performance. Your team has to go deep as well.

Sure. Three things must happen.

1. Fournette needs to keep getting 150 yards per game and mix in a couple of eye-popping 200 yarders.
2. LSU needs to win the West.
3. Fournette must run roughshod over Bama.

You don't put the ball on the ground 2x, nearly resulting in a loss for your team and still expect to be in the conversation IMO. Now, there are plenty of games for him to shine and for the other's to make mistakes that will help him. Wont know till later.
