He's 100% correct.
This.
It was a horrible call, no doubt about it. The officials missed it. That's all it was.
It wasn't a conspiracy, it wasn't deliberate and it definitely isn't a reason to play the game over.
It's not a certainty that the Saints make the FG.
Every fan is with Saints fans in agreement that it was terrible, but you have to let it go. It's done. Don't sound like a scorned woman.
I know what I'm talking about because...
DEZ CAUGHT THE BALL.

Alright LSU/Saints fans. Here’s a test of your loyalty. What do you think of his comments?
I'm a Saint and a Tiger..........a Tiger and a Saint.
IDGAF what he said, the shoe is on the other foot. And tbh, I really dont care about him getting a ring. I care more about my team and the enjoyment that was robbed from me, the city, the state, and the CURRENT team more than someone who played for LSU in the past.
I'm sure I'd get upvotes on Saints talk and downvotes over here. Frankly, I dont care and his comments piss me off

Ironically, Whitworth said they had chances after that play and didn’t win. The INT by Brees in OT was a penalty for hands to the face ALL YEAR! Did the Saints really have a true opportunity? The whole thing is one big shitshow.

It might be an excuse only if it was unintentionally not called.

I don't really have a problem with what he said. He's choosing to emphasize things that, while true, don't address the issue of the call being blatantly wrong AND preventing the Saints from winning the game right then and there. That's probably healthy way of looking at it for someone who is (thanks to the blown call) still playing for a Super Bowl. It's not the Rams' job to apologize for the disastrous officiating.

Like it or not. The rams conspired with the refs to steal the NFC championship.

How is it test of loyalty? Whitworth played for LSU but does not anymore. I don’t wish him ill will or anything but I don’t root his team

No he's not. There's a huge difference between a call that could potentially effect a game and one that would have ended it. If that call happens in the second quarter no one gives a shite.
I think you're missing his point. It's a false dichotomy between "potentially effect" and "one that would have ended it" because no one knows how much effect an earlier bad call would have had or changed the flow.
How far back do you want to 'rewind' and restart the game?

I agree with him. Sucks but that is the way the cookie crumbles.

Meh. Who cares?
He was a great Tiger and is now in the NFL/WWE.
What else do you expect him to say?
At least now he gets paid when a game is altered due to corrupt officiating.

He should admit they got lucky and that's it. The face mask everyone keeps talking about wasn't a face mask. The fact that Rams players are complaining about us complaining is childish. If I'm a Ram I say "we got lucky" and I don't feel bad about it.

On the pick, actually was hands to the face.

Interesting that he didnt mention the hands to face on brees during the interception in ot. Shouldve been a roughing the qb flag and 15 yards.

You see the arguments from some of the Saints' players about the rule about the commissioner restarting the game over or from that point or whatever," Whitworth told Eisen, via Turf Show Times. "My argument to that would be, Rich, is then Jared Goff got a facemask on the second down on the possession before that was not called. That'd be first-and-goal at the 1 down three points. If you look at our odds from the 1 this season, that's seven points. So, they'd be down four, and a field goal wouldn't matter. They would have had to score in that situation either way.

So, the reality is, where is the last foul that you want to argue? Whether it's blatant or not is not a matter. It's whether it's a foul.
He’s right you know

He knows he doesn't deserve to be in the big show.
