Penrod’s analysis is right I think. I remain hopeful given the on-field test, him ambling off field, and his demeanor. Against this tho is O’s comments, which indicate something more severe. It’s hard to know how / what he was briefed. Fingers still crossed

Yes, I agree that the Lachman test looked ok watching on TV. I really think it’s a torn meniscus.

Wouldn’t either of them cause him to be out all season?

Meniscus could be around a month depending on how bad it is.

Am I the only one who saw a C Michigan player fall on him, seemingly on purpose, after he was down with the injury? There was absolutely no reason to do what he did.

I saw that too. He must've of mad from all the times he was getting whipped by the LSU DL.

I really hope it’s not MCL or ACL and I would be devastated for him if it was, but I’d bet money that it’s one of the two

Yeah, I thought that when I saw the replay. It was "non contact" and he went down immediately. I hope it is just "sprained" like they said on the radio call last night.....

A sprained ACL is a torn ACL

I’m curious exactly how can you tell if the test looked ok while watching on TV?

It was confirmed it was just a sprain and not a torn ligament.

FACT CHECK: There is a big difference in a sprained ACL vs torn ACL. Torn ACL would make walking normal very difficult. Anterior cruciate, medial collateral ligament, torn patella, etc. are all injurries that require some rehab. We’ll have to wait and see what the actual injury is to know if he’ll be back this season. Tough injury for a guy that paid his dues to be in a great position to excel this year.
Next Man Up as they say. Part of the game. Hope he returns to the lineup. Prayers sent....

No reason? You mean other than the fact that every single offensive linemen in history would have done the exact same thing, because that is what they are coached to do?

It’s not that the test looked okay; it’s that the trainer most likely would not have let him walk off if the trainer thought the ACL might be torn. That doesn’t mean it’s not torn; it’s just a positive sign. If I had to bet I’d go with sprained “knee” (not the ACL) with perhaps some meniscus. That would be 4 to 6 weeks at worst.

My wife and I have had 4 torn ACLs. For her first one we stood her up, and when she put weight on it the knee buckled, possibly causing more collateral damage that could have been avoided.

After a player is lying on the ground obviously hurt? I think not. I'm pretty sure they would have flagged an LSU player doing the same thing. JMHO.

It happened quickly after Anthony went down and I don't think he knew he was injured.

I gotcha I was just going by what you had stated although I disagree about walking off the field. I see athletes walk off quite often after the “looseness” test only to have an MRI confirm the tear a day later I’ve torn 3 ACLs and only I couldn’t walk off the field. I actually finished pitching an inning after one of my tears. Luckily it sounds like it’s not a tear from today’s report.

Sadly, I'm hearing Andre is done. ACL. Really hate it. He's just a great leader and a good player. Sad.

I think it's according to the person. I said that because I tore my ACL in my right knee in a basketball game, and it was three or four days later before any swelling, also I was able to walk on it with just a little limp at first.
