He should be angry with himself that he continues to tolerate his pitching coach being very very average at best.

Says Penrod, the poster with some of the most nonsensical takes that I’ve seen on here. Ironic

Also, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a multi-million dollar baseball coach to produce every year at LSU. We can’t have years when we don’t even sniff the NCAA Tournament’s field of 64.

If we could get the same five years we just had, that would be awesome. Two years ending in regional appearances, miss the tournament once, and two more national championships.

Your take is that Jay Johnson isn’t earning his salary.

Looking at the ESPN list, it shows 60 transfer prospects, by my count 50 of those have declared their destination schools. Of those 50, 36 are moving to SEC schools.

That speaks to the quality of SEC baseball and just how hard the league is.

Is he angry or does he just have more time given no postseason interference?

Seems like a bit of both from his interviews postseason. He mentioned losing a couple guys last season because they were playing WVU in supers and had to game plan rather than recruit while they were in town. He 100% blamed himself. The calendar sucks with the way they have portal, postseason, and draft all sorta crammed in close together.

Hotchkiss was the only other real option higher than Watters. The others are real draft option, Catchers, and SS that we already have. Well done Mr. Johnson!

I would think more embarrassed than angry
Woodward hired him but keep acting like Woodward was holding him back
Would be more worried when he leaves because Woodward doesn’t have his ear

The only person he should be angry with is himself after our abysmal 2026 campaign.

I can guarantee he lost more sleep over the team’s performance in 2026 than the lsu fanbase combined.

Waters and Hood are Perfect Game Transfer rankings #1 and 2. Laya was PG #9.

I think he’s referencing the ESPN portal rankings that’s why they are a little lower
