Am I naive to think our guys wouldn’t ask for more NIL or not play in playoff? Nico did

Heupel didn’t have enough headaches preparing for Ohio State, so his starting QB wanted an on-the-spot raise to play the next game the biggest game of the year and for Tennessee the biggest game in thirty years.
I am an art teacher, we have an annual art show. I cannot imagine in the weeks leading up to the event going to my principal and asking for more money or I don’t hang student art. To sabotage a group effort is unthinkable to me.

If one of them did, I’d be totally ok with Kelly telling them to pound sand. And if it’s a key player and we lose then so be it. I don’t get to ask for a raise because I’m about to execute a big project.

This is where NIL gets weird. This started from jersey sales, autographs, video games, etc. We can't call this NIL anymore. If we're negotiating sums to play, then contracts need to be involved. NCAA really needs to figure this out. None of it makes sense anymore.

What about in the sideline…during a big game? Handshake on a bonus if you get the return out to the 50, or make a big kick, or a crucial sack.

How do you propose to do this since the money isn't coming directly from the school and NIL cannot be tied to play or performance?

I disagree. I think sone of these kids ONLY care about the brand they play for. The caveat being most play for the brand name on the back of their jersey, not the one on the front.
