This is important. When y’all are talking about season record, the schedule is just as important as the roster. 10-2 is pie in the sky. That being said, your predictions are needlessly pessimistic.

Bama - Loss
@UF-Loss. What? UF is a bigger mess than us. At least a push
@TAMU - Loss Probable loss, but who knows. We may have things figured out by then.
@AU- Loss What? AU is a dumpster fire. Push at worst.
Ole Miss - push
FSU - push Vegas and I lean LSU
Tenn - Loss At home? This is a push. Vols are a couple seasons away.
MsSt - push Now you’re being silly
Arky - push
SU - Win
NM - Win
UAB - Win

i do think it's a very good bet at 6.5 ... especially since they won 6 last year. I'm going to make it myself before it climbs to 7.

I break it down in 2's

FSU/Southern 2-0
Missst/NM. 2-0
Aub/Ten 1-1 (win at least one)
Fla/Miss 1-1 (win at least one)
Ala/Ark. 0-2 (tough to win both)
UAB/TX A+M. 1-1

even with all of the new faces and the unknowns.. this is a reasonable path to 7 wins. The opener is really a hinge game for this bet and a loss puts it in jeopardy

We won six with a JV team with no depth Cookie Monster as the head coach anything less than nine is a letdown

It’s without a doubt a top 15 talented roster in the country. Probably top 10. People have recency bias in college football and back to back .500 seasons ain’t a great look. I do fully believe that national media and even some fans grossly underestimate just how bad the coaching and culture were the last 2 years. Last years team should have been a 8-9 win team on paper talent wise. I think this years team has a lot more going for it with players and coaching obviously. LSU is still towards the top with talent

There is no recency bias when you lose most of your roster. There is a lot of unproven talent with a brand new defensive and offensive coaching staff and scheme. For that reason alone this season is may be an 8 win season.
Our roster is stacked.

I’m positive about the future and will except for less the season. Children push the panic button on a 10 year contract with a coach that has proven his ability to win. Talent alone does not win championships. LSU is not deep and does not have proven talent.
Eight winds would be a great first start considering the lack of unproven talent. You all believe that the entire SEC got weaker this year.

How many new SEC coaching staffs are in place that LSU will be playing this year?

How the hell is the over under for wins at 6.5? Anything less than 8 wins would be a complete failure of a season.

If we only win six games, why did we fire/pay off Orgeron.
We proved we could win six without a HC.

You do realize we were competitive against Bama, Arkansas, and even beat 8-4 with a team full backups? How many original starters we had out the 22 we started the year with? About six or seven maybe? This with a piss poor staff and a team of players out of shape. Your telling me we don't have talent? This was against our backups. Backups!

We didn’t bring BK in at 10 million a year for 6-6 or 7-5. Either would be a disappointment. We have the roster to at least go 8-4 if not 9-3.

They didn’t lose their QB and all of their talent from a team with a shitty coach that lsu was lucky to beat at home last season. It is a loss.

they have the same coaching staff and other QBs on the roster besides Finley. Many ASSUMED Finley was the QB but that had not played out yet.

Tenn has a great roster with a stable coaching staff. They are not having to learn how to practice like LSU is right now.
MissSt has talent and the same staff as last season. While LSU May have more talent, will they be playing up to the potential then?

You proved my point in your changes to push from loss. It doesn’t matter if it is a win or loss in push. As far as FSU, had they not been a rebuild, it would have been loss considering how LSU is having to learn to rebuild.

This season is NOT predictable. It can be 6-9 wins IMO with 7-8 being likely or expected.

Unproven quarterback.
Unproven running backs.
Unproven offensive line.
Unproven (and essentially new) secondary.
Unproven LBs over any length of time.
New coaching staff.
Unreal attrition and dissension on the team a few months ago.
Play in the SEC West.

Actually, the tempered predictions are easy to understand.

Stop trolling you twit. JV team my arse. You and Pirate should go suck each other off while you all still circle jerk with Orgeron and his fat arse associate Derek.
Let me break it down:
They are still learning to practice.
They have an Unproven Oline.
Special teams? - worse no Cade York who was drafted as a kicker. .
They have Unproven DBs and are worse than last season with those that at least played part of the season in Ricks. Lost McGlothern.
They have unproven LBs
They have Unproven RBs
They have NO TE’s in a Kelly offense that is known for TE involvement in the passing game.
They have an UNPROVEN QB SITUATION.
To top all that off:
They have a new coaching staff with NEW OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE SCHEMES.
You don’t learn that is spring and fall ball with this much change.

If by "stacked" you mean stronger than 80% of all FBS teams, sure.

If by stacked you mean stronger than half% of the division where we play all of our games, you'd be wrong.

Come on man you could of made the same arguments on the 2019 offense going into the year

QB we sucked in 18 Burrow 57.8 percent and 16 tds

Rb Clyde was garbage only averaged 4.5 yards a carry in 2018 Emery averaged 5.0 yds in 2020

Wr Chase and Marshall were highly rated but each only averaged 250 yards for the year

OL Return the same crappy ol from the year before

See how that logic work wonders?

Do you not understand the difference between having a lot of players who gained valuable experience together in 2018 vs what we have going into 2022?

We turned over basically the ENTIRE staff, from coaches to analysts, to everyone.

We also have a lot of players who will be valuable contributors this season who weren't even at LSU last year.

It's a major difference.

You do realize for that time that was an upgrade in QB production right? You could see the signs of a team that maybe could breakout in 2019.

Offensively this team compares way better to the 2018 team than the 2019 team. QB battle. No proven RB’s. Talented WR group and questionable o line.

I do believe the defense will be really good. Yes they have question marks but they have a great d line and that can cover up a lot of deficiencies at LB and DB.

My point was you can't base your success or failure this year with what happened the year before. Just like 2020 was not like 2019. This year we got 13 transfers that most were high level players on their teams. We have players that are in shape, better developed, and less likely to get hurt. Couple that with organization and scheme as you have a bottom of 8 wins. I promise you this was a 9-10 win team the last two years with the staff we got now. Don't believe me go look at the NFL draft last few years. It was a joke how poorly things were run.

I am tempted to suggest you watch watch the UCLA and Kentucky games but then when our D coaches made adjustments, put some blitz packages in, all of a sudden we could play defense again. We also could not run the ball and then re-inserted down trap blocking schemes and got TDP drafted. So, I also hope that our staff can coach our offensive line to win in the SEC. 10-3 gets CBK SEC Coach of the Year.
