That’s exactly why Vegas’ projections are meaningless. How could they possibly project LSUs W/L when they haven’t seen the new offense or defense and they don’t even know who are QB is. That line is a shot in the dark put no stock in it

I agree. They don't have too much to go on. A spring game?...

Our roster is NOT stacked. That's what you are missing.

On paper, we are below average at RB and TE on the offense. And, OL and QB both have bust potential. If either of those happen, you'll be praying for 8 wins.

On defense, LB is extremely thin and is also under talented as a group. The defensive backfield I think will be a deficiency as well. We've replaced too much.

Our strengths are at WR and DL. So, the hope for this team to overachieve is to have one of the QBs step up and become a net positive...and have the OL outperform expectations. On defense, you hope the DL allows the LBs to overachieve and they just all get after the opposing QB all the time.

I don't get what y'all are thinking we are replacing at DB? Stingley and Ricks were gone before the UF game. The games against the good competition at the end of the year Bama,Ark, and 8-4 we lose Mcglothen and Darren Evans off of. We replace them with three way better corners. Our number three corner was a preseason All American before he got hurt last year. He proved himself vs Clemson and Bama. That defense played better against Bama than any team last year even UGA. We lose Clark and Mc Glothen basically return the whole defense even players that were injured those games plus all these high level transfers. Best defense since 11 not even a question about it.

It really isn't though.

Our running backs aren’t exactly household names.

You’re right on.
1.) look at where people rank ole miss. They lost a great QB. Both coordinators and multiple Starters yet media and pundits believe that some how they will be better than us.
2.) coaching + our talent better positions us to win now

3. Our Oline will be strength this year. We have depth at every spot. They are better conditioned and will have to compete against our ridiculously good d line for a month to earn there stripes.

4. Our DLine is stacked and will keep us in every game.

Are you being serious right now? We replace two below average SEC corners Evans and Dwight with the following

Converse started 48 straight games and was first team all big 12 last year. OSU was one of the top defenses in football last year

Garner one of the highest graded pff corners was mocked in the 4th round of the draft last year if he would have left for the draft.

Banks started every game for Ohio St in 2020. Proved himself against Clemson and Bama in the CFP. Was pre season all American last year before his injury.

Evans and Dwight were all Americans all of sudden? Because that's who I saw the last eight games playing corner. You watched the same team?

Let's see:

New coaching staff, new system
Unknowns at QB, OL, LB, DB, K, and P
No viable option at TE
Playing in the SECW

That's a lot of question marks and or weaknesses

McGlothern was a solid SEC corner.

Calling him "below average" invalidates everything else you said.

**academic all Big 12

Vs Sun Belt competition. Was third team all Sun Belt.

Banks started every game for Ohio St in 2020. Proved himself against Clemson and Bama in the CFP. Was pre season all American last year before his injury.

**third team All American

He was going to the NFL but his injury was too severe.

All of these guys could be great but you're pumping some serious sunshine and assuming the best case scenario.

These guys have never even played together.

Come on man. Every season & schedule is different. This years LSU team is a completely different animal than the last 2 teams. Thats not even mentioning the brutal ‘22 schedule.

CBK & Co. has to get a bunch of 17-20 yo kids who’ve never played together to buy in completely & come together as a team.

BK Coaching:
7-5 - Average job & no luck
8-4 - Good job & a little luck
9-3 - Great Job & a few breaks go2 LSU
10-2 - Excellent Job & most breaks go2 LSU
Any more than 10 W’s & the football gods will have anointed CBK & LSU as the new Kangs of the SEC & CFB!!!

All Americans?

We were a 6 win team. Improving from those two doesn't accomplish anything. We landed 3 transfers that were absolutely needed to avoid disaster.

I expect the defensive backfield to be a liability at times.

Spoken like a true fanboy.....let's just wait and see.....this team has a lot of question marks.....right now, I believe that 8-4 might be really good...

Totally agree......it's hard to predict anything about this team......they could be 9-3 as well as 6-6....
