I didn't realize that O'Connor is only 50 years old

Woodward’s history is being a guy that makes Home Run hires, I.e. Fisher, Mulkey...At this point I think either Vitello or Corbin are the only two left that fit that Bill.

I think , and what I think is not important, but I think it is Corbin, Similar age and resume as Mulkey. Really quality guy. Just makes sense.

Actually Corbin is the only one left to fit the profile, of the names we have seen mentioned.

Corbin would be a home run but i dont see why he would leave Vandy at this point. He's got them rolling and have built in advantages that other schools dont.

He does have advantages at Vandy. Guess I was just hoping. But it would be a challenge for him.

sort of how Kim Mulkey built Baylor. Why would she leave?

Completely different circumstances. Kim Mulkey is from the area, her son played at LSU, that's her incentive for coming down.

Neither Corbin, nor O'Connor, have any connection to LSU or Louisiana. This is a terrible comparison.

So you really think that a coach would finalize his move right after a tough loss?? I just can’t see that. I think it’s a coach that was off that day, Sunday and maybe even inked it on paper. But due to him still coaching HIS TEAM in Omaha right now nobody knows except a handful of people 2 of them being Scott and said coach. They using the cones of silence on this one baw.

I was told a couple of weeks ago that the list began with 1) O’Sullivan and 2) Corbin. We all know he went after O’Sullivan and he either turned him down or the board nixed it. So you just may be right Ole baw

It's an assistant coach currently in Omaha that is the guy. I just know it, all signs point to this guy and I know who it is : )))

Meh, I don't think this necessarily means its Vitello. Just means there is a good chance our next coach is currently coaching in Omaha

...or, that the new coach isn't yet identified.

People make way too many assumptions.

LSU may be waiting on Omaha coaches not because there is a deal already made...but because it wants to interview one of those coaches and won't interfere until their season is up.

It takes two to tango...LSU isn't simply choosing its next coach. To land a big fish, you have to play by his rules and almost certainly, the rules are to wait until his season is over.

McDonnel or Godwin would've been announced by now as neither is playing ball anymore.

I'm not sure I would write either of them off. It's highly possible they are still under consideration pending the CWS finishing up. Maybe Vitello's agent has been in touch with LSU and is managing inquiries on Vitello's behalf since he is focused on the CWS. He's not going to distract himself with negotiations, but doesn't want to turn it down either.

I am going to assume a day or two after Tenn wins it or is eliminated we will either announce Vitello or Godwin/McDonnel if Vitello turns us down.

May possibly be looking at a very underwhelming hire.
