First of all, before I begin, you're a terrible, shitty, and super negative bitch of a poster. You've come on recently and done nothing but trash LSU. Don't know whose alter you are, but it's annoying as frick.

The guys who coach in these games get paid to coach and aren’t often coaches.
Sean Salisbury. Former NFL and Canadian football QB.
quote:

They don’t trash the players afterwards. If they did, you think that would be a good or bad thing for future players?
It's clearly obvious that you didn't listen to a lick of what he said.

quote:

Hurley is a 56% high school completion percentage guy with less rushing yards 10% of the career rushing yards Myles Brennan had in high school.
Kyle Trask was a backup his entire career in high school and was offered by several schools including Florida, where he went.

Hurley had a 30 yard run in the game after escaping the pocket and threw for over 300 yards and 5 TDs. He moves damn well.
quote:

Basically, Kids a statue in the pocket and had issues with accuracy. Him being 16 would lend you to think he’s go upside, but he’s more than fully developed.
Sounds like the same thing dick suckers said about Jayden Daniels who started 4 years before his last year at LSU, WHERE HE WON THE HEISMAN AND IS BEING PROJECTED AS A TOP 5 DRAFT PICK!

quote:

Career backup, with ceiling being starting as a 5th year senior if things go perfectly for him.
The level of knowledge and future sight I would expect from a dumbass.

Sean Salisbury. I'll let your ignorant arse figure out who he is.

I’m sorry if the truth offends you and you like sunshine or rainbows getting pumped up your gay arse.

Well aware that Salisbury was the OC and who he is. If the OC was Tom Brady, do you think under any circumstance, the OC in a HS all america game is going to do anything but gush about the guys he coached during the week? If so, find me one coach from a HS game who said anything negative about a player he coached in HISTORY of HS all america games.

If you’ve watched a lot of this kids film, then you know what I’m talking about. He had 70 career yards rushing. There has never been a success at the college level who has had this few of rushing yards. Never. Prove me wrong.

Ban bet it if Hurley ever is considered a good college QB?

How about just let everything play out before putting the guy down. He is graduating high school early to redshirt. I'm not so quick to prop people up or put them down. He has potential and what needs improving maybe the staff and work on it and make him better.

I have stayed away from commenting on Hurley for the most part. Fans love to write the book on someone, even if they sample size is incomplete.

Age matters in development.

Consider that every snap Hurley took as a high school player came as a 16yr old, or younger. It is insane how much even 1yr of football improves a player. You will never get to see Hurley as an 18yr old in high school. I can tell you, it would look a lot different than this. Any normal high school kid in his position would play for 2 more seasons. And he still really wouldn’t even be old for his grade.

So when you say “he only completed 56% of his passes”, stop it. Focus more on the physical tools & makeup. I think it’s reasonable to feel curious as to why he wants to jump out of high school. But in the end this is a toolsy high school sophomore. The stats are a rough gauge for a kid that age, regardless of talent.

Did you ever once think that Hurley wasn’t playing around very good talent with his high school team? And now that he finally got a chance to play with elite athletes like he will at LSU in All American game he looked great? Also against elite high school defensive players in that game?

Not saying he’s the next Joe Burrow or Daniels but dang man give the dude a chance lol

So, a 16 year old has no upside and has peaked?

I’m giving him a chance and love his attitude and hope he makes it.

It’s just stupid when people make posts about the kid who is by all means a developmental guy and in the same sentence saying shite like, “why should we get underwood, we have Hurley who bleeds p&g”. It’s ignorant posters like this that result in us having Nuss Bus scenarios wanting to bench the starter, who happens to be one of the best of all time.

All that sounds great but if you look even deeper you see it's not as rosey as you think.
First of all, he'll be 17 in March meaning 18 next March which means he's the age of a HS junior not sophomore.
The accuracy is a multi year issue not just one. We were assured his accuracy would improve between last year and this. It didn't. Now we are sure it's gonna change from this to next? It's as crazy a thought as everyone pinning next years defense on "retention" when what's being retained produced the worst defense any of us have ever seen. Sometimes you've got show me before I believe it.
As for development, he's maxed. He's not getting bigger, stronger, faster. He is what he is. He can improve as a qb but he doesn't have the upside people keep trying to proclaim because he's young. Potential has no minimum or max age range, it varies on an individual basis. In his case, he's reached it or very near has. Accuracy is the only skill with room to tangibly improve. So far, it is what it is.
I hope to be completely wrong because he's by all accounts a great kid that loves the staff and program. Just don't see it.

I’ll reach out of limb and say the kid is the real deal. He has lots of intangibles.

Hurley is why i’m not really worried about what happens with Underwood next year. I hope we still land him of course but I think Hurley is going to be ready to see the field in 2025 or 2026. He will need one year at least to sit and learn while going through LSU’s strength and conditioning program but the kid is impressive and mature beyond his age.

Well, doesn't matter. We still need a defense. I see a 5* defensive lineman from A&M transferred to Ole Miss. Kane is pulling in a good haul.

Damn dawg, you sound incredibly stupid. He literally just threw 5 touchdowns in one of the two major ALL AMERICAN games. So that’s what? The top 200 HS players in the country between both games? And did it 2 years before he was even supposed to be there. So now all Americans are developmental players. What a clown statement.

You’re as good as your players. Our defense coach is not as bad as it looks. Our players just suck

Back in the 1940s, my dad skipped two grades and entered college at 16 yrs old. Always said he felt out of place being so much younger than the other students. Best of luck to Colin because 2 years can matter at that age.

I often wonder why posters were overlooking this kid and thinking that Underwood would just walk in and take the job after Nuss. Hurley is a baller and will be tough to be out .

Hurley’s going to study hard just like Burrow and Daniels did, he’s that type of quarterback, a worker, very athletic and very smart. He will be way ahead of Underwood when he arrives.
