It’s not only this board that thinks he’s bad. He was consistently our worst-graded offensive lineman. I saw that dude knocked on his arse so often last year.

and we all recall Nuss, the Heisman front runner this season, running for his life often last season.

He would get quick pressure from Chester every now and then, but he also had an incredibly nasty habit of dropping into rush lanes.

this was the best OL in LSU history
I will be the first to admit that I don't have a deep understanding of the intricacies of offensive line play and schemes, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around this given the product on the field last year. We were a one dimensional offense with a QB that desperately needed a running game. I don't know if it's talent, coaching, or scheme, but I don't see last year's line as the best ever, not by a long shot. But I'm open to be convinced otherwise.

Yeah, a guy that can play two positions on the line including the unicorn position of C, yeah he will get drafted.

You guys were questioning Brad Davis coaching just a couple of months ago.

Come on, 4 of the 5 OL got drafted, yet we could not run the ball worth shite all year. Something tells me that the coaches cannot be trusted to coach these guys properly and Chester being chosen tells me nothing.

Did you watch him at all last year? He was putrid at all phases of the game, no push in the run, whiffing on pass blocks and bad snaps. Sorry, the dude is just bad.

We ran the Jayden Daniel’s playbook with nuss. He never kept it, so we couldn’t run. It was all on scheme that falls on Sloan but really BK.

BK better straighten his shite out. He’s always one coach away it feels like. Defense will be completely revamped and Baker will start fielding calls to be a HC in no time.

Sloan better be ready I’d love to see a more seasoned analyst come in for redzone and run game.

We couldn’t score for shite last year or run the ball.

Yeah its painfully obvious Sloan does not believe in running the football.

We will consistently lose 3 to 4 games with Brian Kelly and pay for play.

Nuss played his worst stretch of football after Dellinger was injured

Wrong sir. Nuss struggled against Ole Miss but our fans forget it because he "won" the game. Entered the 4th Quarter at a 33% completion percentage.

Those struggles continued into Arkansas, with 3 INTs that were dropped.

A&M ended the game at 50% completion with 3 picks.

All of these occurred before the injuries.

They were drafted because of their ability to pass protect. Go look at run block grades for those guys. Not good.

Terrible scheme. We ran the ball out of shotgun 99% of the time. Without a duel threat in the backfield this doesn't work

Many of the best rushing teams in the country run the ball out of the shotgun without a dual threat quarterback.

This is constantly repeated here because many of you are confusing RPOs with read options.

That's why they hired Alex Atkins.

Serious question, how would 200 more attempts have helped our average?

Just goes to show how the “best OL” had talent but couldn’t run block so does that fall back on coaching or ? Brad is a good recruiter but can he coach them up…this is his year to prove it! If the OL doesn’t gel and play as a unit for both Pass/run block Nuss will really struggle as will the team.

Losing Dellinger and then having Frazier and Starting a redshirt freshman hurt them more than anything else.
The QB in protection and running IS the center: A great center can make an average Oline look a hell of a lot better than what it is. You don’t need as much talent when the unit plays together and that starts and ends with the center.

I will never "know ball" according to the people who also believe that LSU was constantly running read options with Nuss.

But you have to consider the source.

Yes, at center he absolutely was.

Portal politics. If Chester starts this season, it will be at guard.
