You have to keep these type of kids in the program.
Sometimes it is out of your control.

Yeskie didn’t do much for the development of a lot of these young pitchers. Moffett, Cam, & Kade Anderson who was misused.
I mean i think Moffett developed a lot. idk who gets that credit but I doubt his cape cod coach made the calls on his mechanics.
I would have liked to see way more Cam Mid Week for sure but what was your issues with how Anderson was handled?

What is non sense? The staff as a whole did not show very much improvement. More players got worse or stayed the same vs got better. Doesn’t help they have a new pitching coach every year, I get it. But Yeskie is the guy, he will get the heat

Who got better? Who got worse? Who stayed the same?
Using SEC only stats (era)
Better- Little, Hellmers, Herring, Ack, Hurd,
Same- arguably Guidry, Dutton
Worse- Coleman

He was landing 3 pitches for strikes by the end of the season. I thought he'd have a chance to get starts next season based on that.

Coleman hasn't gotten worse since last season. He's gotten worse pre-injury to post-injury. He wasn't good last year either. Both small sample sizes, but his numbers were objectively better this year than they were last year. And honestly, his numbers alone were better this season than his freshman season pre-injury.

Hurd didn’t get better. He was your Friday starter & was demoted.
I’d say Hellmers & Herring improved. Little did well at the end of the year.
The rest either stayed the same or got worse.

With an arm like that, I thought he had potential for the pitching coach to work with. As for Yeskie, I did see improvement in the pitching staff during the course of the year. At the beginning we had our two aces and aside from that we had trouble not getting run ruled on Sundays. Things were much better at the end.

His last game was an absolute gem.

Moffett improved. Hollman improved from his season last year and Jump from his 2 years ago at UCLA. Anderson and Ulloa both improved as the season went on.

Are you looking at thisnyear as a whole or in season?
Obviously Herring, Little, Moffett, Hellmers Guidry was at least statistically better than last year.
Dutton was better he just isn’t good.
Hurd and Ackenhausen were disappointing
I also think guys like Anderson and Jump got better as the season went on. Anderson had a rough transition to the weekend but we putting out quality innings at the end.

If you can’t rely on a guy to be consistent after two years, I’m good with sending him down the road and opening up a spot for someone who can be. I don’t care how hard he throws

Using Hurd as an example is disingenuous. He’s a head case that was horrible most of last season. They were more desperate with that staff and had to stick with him.

First guy that has entered the portal that I really wanted to keep. Maybe he wants a weekend starter role, he has really good stuff if he figures out the mechanics. Best of luck to the kid.

Hurd is who he was this year and last I don’t blame Yeskie for that. Anderson didn’t pitch in a real game in what 2 years and by the end of the year we got some good innings out of him. I’ll take it.

Moffett will never be a consistent arm while in college. We have enough guys with “stuff that just need polish” time to get guys with stuff and polish now

Moffett played in the Northwoods League last summer, not the Cape Cod League.
However, he is ticketed to the Cape Cod League this summer.
