Because they are not miracle workers. I know this is shocking but if you have 100K + people in a relatively small area most trying to get out at the same time there will be congestion

Maybe you need to learn a different route off of campus

Can someone explain why they block Highland road heading south? I park at the parade grounds and couldn’t go right from the union onto highland. It makes no sense considering the large population that lives in south BR. I feel like this is an easy fix

No traffic if you take Delpit by McKinley HS.

What else can they do? Contraflow starts near end of third quarter. If you lived in Atl, Dallas or Houston this is am traffic and 5pm traffic every work day. I guess the only solution is to stay home.

The traffic at the end of the game should be a breeze.

I stay until the end and it is usually not a problem for me heading out South Stadium to I-110. Last few games they have been contraflowing South Stadium (which they always do) and green lighting Stanford all the way to Perkins. Poor bastards going south on Stanford are blocked this whole time.

I'm just guessing, but there are probably only a few people specifically at the parade grounds that live in south Baton Rouge, so you'd disrupt Dalrymple for a few cars. You could still take the interstate and not be too inconvenienced, I'm guessing. Map

I park at the Lakes now. It is quite a walk to and from the stadium. I stayed till end. My seats are in south Endzone beneath the expansion and left at the end of game. I got to my vehicle about 12:15 am. Got home at 12:45 and I live in Prairieville. Got right on Stanford ave with little issue. The only complaint I do have is they block traffic going to campus right at the last entrance. They should block traffic at Hyacinth so no one blocks the exits of the parking lot at the Lakes. I had to squeeze my way thru a few idiot drivers who wanted to inch forward knowing that the street is blocked and I’m going the other direction.

that is a large amount of people all leaving a place at once, with most of them trying to get to 1 interstate.

Not to mention the campus is bordered by one of the nations largest rivers with very few crossing point.

I get that but wouldn’t a good majority of those internal campus lots also want to go that way? I’m just saying why not use Highland and Burbank to your advantage instead of forcing every singe car to Dalrymple. It wasn’t a huge deal for this game but imagine a game that’s close and much more people stay till the end

Edit: It seemed like it’s blocked heading south at every street crossing over Highland, which is my issue

They have seriously done a better job I think. Worst time I have had was last year when I had to pull over and wait for damn governors entourage to go by. The horror! Made me take maybe 25 min to get from old Front 9 to college drive where my hotel was that night. That’s from time I go in the car. It’s so so much better now than say ‘97-2005-ish

Well it’s not any better after the game. We stay till the end and still sit in traffic for an hour and an half

Depends on where you park. I parked at the back of the Ag Center, stayed until the end of the game and it took 30-35 minutes to get home.

Maybe they should put in an Express bridge towards the interstate, like what was done in Cobb County GA for the new Braves stadium. If there is enough property somewhere to accommodate it. It seems to have helped.

How could there have been traffic with only 10,000 people at the game?

Took my time leaving the stadium after the game was over.
Parked in Lot 108. Traffic is funneled west down Skip Bertman to River Road from there. River Road is contraflow to the MS River bridge.
Took nearly 40 minutes to get to I-10 West from campus.
Can’t imagine what it will be like after Alabama.

The post game traffic thing is so overplayed. I experience worse traffic at 5 pm on I-10 on a weekday.

Dalrymple was a cluster as usual at the end of the game. They funnel too many people that way with no other options. It would make more sense to let people go south on Highland or around the lakes to Exit out by Miller/Herget. What I don’t understand is people trying to come into campus just as the game is fun ending. There were people trying to come down Dalrymple against traffic last night. Not sure how they got past barricades.

There is a river and you can only exit in three directions.
