We parked in the new lots across from Alex Box. We stayed until the end. Got on Gourrier, went across Nicholson, and down Burbank. Traffic volume was high but we never even stopped. Traffic wasn't bad at all.

You have to figure out where to park in relation to contraflow. If you want to go against the grain, expect to sit a while.

A significant part of the problem is the giant river just blocks from stadium.

Also there are no major highways headed to/from campus, just 2 lane roads.

The same lack of transportation infrastructure that BR deals with daily, causes these after-game traffic problems. That's not something Joe A can fix with a few bucks.

Why can’t the LSU administration and the BR police do something to make the traffic situation better after the games?

They're the ones who are responsible for the clusterfrick.

My dad and uncle drove from NOLA to BR for football games from 1959 until about 15 years ago. Before the BRPD got involved and people were allowed to drive wherever, traffic moved slowly but smoothly off campus. We used to park by the Student Union or across Highland behind the dorms in the horseshoe. We would get on I-10 W at Dalrymple, exit Louise Street and u-turn back towards NOLA OR we would exit campus along the lakes and take Acadian Thruway to I-10.

The barricades and forced routes is the screw up, moreso than the amount of people attending games.

When I lived on Burbank and had a parking pass, I had a pass in Lot C (by the LSUPD) and was forced to exit heading north when I needed to be driving south of campus.

The pay lots and the contraflow routes are the biggest problem.

The problem is the cops are huge douchebags. I was staying at my buddies place who lives off highland (plantation trace) and the cop refused to let me take a side road to get to highland. Contraflow made it impossible for me to get to his house any other way.

If the cop would have let me through I would have been home in less than 5 minutes. Dude was a complete dick and it took me 2 hours to get there. Ended up having to park in Wal-Mart Parking lot and walk a couple miles with my fiance and our suitcases.
