you don't have to look that far to see what a coach with a good scheme but no talent at a key position can do. I don't know who kept deciding to start Jennings or if Harris really just didn't get his stuff together, but we sucked this year on offense. I believe that Cam has a good scheme on offense, but if you don't have a QB who can execute you will suck.

And all I'm asking is how do you know this?

You would think that a coaches resume and proven performance would speak for itself on the recruiting trail. That's how Saban is a good recruiter. He has a proven winning record.

It doesn't.

No hire has been made yet. How do you know we can't have both?

Saban understands the big picture and was willing to step our of the box and hire Kiffin to get where he wants to go

Some coaches are still trying to learn how to use a Polaroid.

If Brick is the DC no one on this staff will be around to see what impact his recruiting as a DC had in two years.

I can understand not wanting a DC that's just going to sit on their arse and eat Cheetos all day like Chavis, but he still has to be a game planner, play caller, and teacher first and foremost. That isn't even debatable.

CP is a workaholic. It's been suggested in the Fox article that he's a 20-hour a day guy.

CP and O should have been the first offer. The idea to have multiple interviews has destroyed the process.

This is a ridiculous statement.

You think it's a mistake to have multiple interviews? Or that the process is too drawn out?

That's absurd.

note: Brick alone wouldn't be a good hire, not a complete failure but not a good hire.

What I think makes brick ok in my book is for one primary reason. I would open the door for Ed O to come in. This would give us a boost in recruiting and you never know this may help us bring a spark to our defense or something.

Any candidate that would allow Coach O to help with recruiting is a good hire in my book.

considering Alabama should have been beaten by Arkansas and LSU also..

They were a hair away from 8-4. There's some serious unrest in regards to Kiffin among the Alabama faithful.

Does Brick/O combo bring a strong schematic acumen to the table? If not, we will be eaten alive because our offence won't put up 40 pts per game...Whoever comes in needs a scheme that counters some of the better offensive minds in this conference

Stay on track, man. Get back to Bass' shitshow in Dallas b/c LSU put this in Miles' lap.

Don't fondle Saban over Kiffin using Cooper more than every pass happy no huddle gimmicky offense in the nation this year. Yeah, that's right. 124 catches.

No balance on offense. Both losses and near losses were results of keeping Cooper to less than 100 yards. Give Kiffin credit for improving and utilizing Sims, but no way I'm giving Saban any credit here.

Apparently he was a dc at Baylor. It wasn't good.

Those were Steele's teams if I have my years right. They sucked pretty bad so I'm not sure how much of that is on the DC.
