re: According to JC’s sources Wade held on to the text and turned them over to the NCAA.

Jordy said it was $300K this morning. He did not believe it but that's what he was saying.
$300k spread out over time in $50k intervals.

the NCAA/old guard had a serious hard on take Wade down and were clearly willing to burn LSU down to get him.
Instead of calling their bluff and fighting, we cut wade loose. I sort of get it but don't....
I don't think wade did himself any favors when we he had a top team and started publicly going after admin regarding the crappy facilities.

The other Level 1 allegation is concerning running into Christian Watford and his mom at a restaurant in Birmingham. A bama fan took a picture of Christian (Trendon's brother) and his mom visiting with Wade and Bill Armstrong in the restaurant and sent the picture to the NCAA and the NCAA made that into a Level 1 violation somehow.
Absolutely, I cannot stress this enough, frick Bama fans

Yeah he wanted to get humiliated by being canned right before the tournament and get a show cause to ever coach college bball again. Being a used pre certified car salesman at BMW is gonna be fun I bet

Everyone’s trashing him over “allegations” but if what Jordy explained is true..... Wade has legit defenses against just about every charge......there’s still no proof anywhere

I know there are a lot of WW haters on this board who are buying the NCAA narrative hook line and sinker but give it some time and allow LSU and WW to respond to the allegations. Taking their side of the story into account too is at least the fair approach.
That doesn't give us our programs accent, momentum, recruiting class and coach back

If he had done this at Ole Miss or any other sec school we would be furious and hate him.

Punishing a school for offering to pay a kid who signed somewhere else and the final school gets nothing is absolutely absurd. Whether it’s us or Mississippi state.
If you can point to a school that got “hammered” in a similar situation I’m all ears
LSU Basketball.
Now, it's true that Lester Earl did play about 10 games for the Tigers, but at the beginning of January, he skipped town, showed up behind the Kansas bench, and had turned in Dale Brown. LSU got hammered; Earl and Kansas got no sanctions because the NCAA offered him a deal to give evidence.
Not saying this is a comparable situation, but the NCAA has it's own priorities and justice isn't always on that list.

I believe the amended contract WW signed allowed for LSU to fire Wade “with cause” if level 1 allegations were presented. I’m using allegations because I think I recall that being the specific language used.
Wade signed the amended contract to keep his job.
Woodward couldn't make him talk as he had lawyered up. But, he could make it very clear that Wade had to take a more vulnerable position regarding allegations allowing LSU to fire him for cause to keep his job. Had he not taken the amended contract, LSU likely would have terminated him at the time and then the lawyers would have fought over how much of the buyout LSU would have to pay.

What did he do? Absolutely nothing has been proven. And the more details come out, the less “bad” this looks.

Bingo. Wade being charged finally gave Woodward his out to be able to bring in his own guy. This was 100% the plan all along otherwise Wade would have been extended already.
Yeah, far too many people ignore or are too naïve to understand the position Woodward was in. The reality is we didn't have enough to fire Wade for cause. So if Woodward had fired him earlier, then we'd be facing a wrongful termination lawsuit with a whole lot of discovery we wanted no part of. Alleva echoed the same in the statement he made in the last couple days. Woodward did what he should have done and wait until we had cause. Wade's amended contract then made that really easy once we received the NOA with level one violations.

Are there any link sources to this from the time? Would really help bc I believe that Watford chose LSU because of his relationship with Armstrong.
