One of only 2 games I've seen in Tiger Stadium.Does any one remember before the game that the Seminole mascot {imposter} road out to midfield and spiked his spear into the turf? This was followed by Mike yanking him off his horse and scalping the FSU mascot. Helluva start for what was coming. The fog was trippy in the second half and it was raining oranges.

One of the best games ever. Our seats were in the North endzone, 10 rows up. The fog settled into a cloud about a third of the way up the stadium. When the oranges started flying, it looked like they were raining out of the cloud. Then the players started throwing them back up into the stands. We caught it from both directions.

I was pulling oranges through the fence and selling back to the students. That game was awesome and it started when Chief Osceola sunk that flaming spear into the field. The fans were crazy after that.

I was at the '82 Fla State game in the student section. The sky rained naval oranges. One hit a cheerleader square in the gut and doubled her over. Students poured over the wall and rushed the field. I saw a cop shove a girl down into the turf. Then a dude swung and hit that cop so hard, his hat dropped straight down to the ground wgere his feet were, while he landed on his back. The cop was knocked out cold. After that, they broke out the night sticks and went after the whole crowd on the field. Hard to believe that was 37 yrs ago. It was a wild night.

That game was my first football game date with my wife. We've been married over 34 years now. The fog was unreal. Never seen anything like it again.

The night it rained oranges. I was a student at LSU at the time. That is my most lasting memory of my days in the student section.

I remember the game. Winner of the game was to get an invite to the Orange Bowl, loser to the loser bowl.

We carried bags of oranges in. Every score we pelted the field. Fog came in 2nd half and couldn’t see across the field.

I remember reading a quote in the paper next day where Bowden complained about the oranges. “Why did they let students carry in so many oranges? What did they think they were going to do with them? Eat them?”

I remember after the game Tulane’s Reggie Reginelli pickup up oranges...taking bites from them..and throwing them into the student section ?

Happened at point blank range from me. He scored, reached down, took off his helmet, bite the orange, and hurled it directly over my head deep into the SouthEZ.

Great memories! That was one of the most exciting years in LSU football and one of the most frustrating. We had no business losing to Miss State, tying Tenn, and most especially losing to Tulane! But the wins were fantastic- Florida, Bama on the road and FSU at home, all top ten teams when we played them.

Was there as well, upper deck but in one of the first 5 rows. Awesome eerie game for sure. Then we lose to Tulane the next week.

We spiked our oranges with vodka. Squeezed them, stuck a straw in them, drank it and THEN threw them on the field. Couldn't get away with that today. Good times.

Not just the fog but the way it rolled in over the top of the stadium . Reminded me of the scene from Ten Commandments and the fog of death.

I was in the student section and when the fog came rolling in over the southeast end zone was a surreal moment!
Jim Henderson was on the sideline doing a remote after the game. He was not happy at all with the oranges buzzing by his ears and let it be known while reporting!
Funny as shite!!!
22 years old then and the best game I’ve ever experienced!!!!
