With new coaching staff on offense you could argue that there is no pecking order. If you play the best in practice you deserve 1st shot on the field. However, you MUST look at past performances and unfortunately TJFinley was never consistently good. Consistency is what the coaches want. It wins championships. Mad Max showed that w more playing time down the stretch. Brennan's inconsistency on 3rd down is concerning. You have to come through on the money down .
I would say Johnson has proven he can move the chains as well as anyone. He's my bet to start the season.

Maybe the size of the school, funding, facilities, resources and the level of coaching. This may come as a shock but not all Balck people are the SAME.

There are literally hundreds of white coaches with similar resources as the black schools you named that have the same results as those schools!!!

Maybe that is the reason not because they are JUST BLACK!!

I agree. When I evaluate the recruits, the key elements I look at is the level of talent they play. Finley played a bunch of kids that had no business being on the field..or at least wouldn’t start at a high school with talent

Very excited for this season. We'll have a good QB, probably Max. Big chip on our shoulder, we'll be ready for some revenge. Think we have a shot at the CFP.

I want to see groundbreaking shite like "setting the edge." I hear it's stifling the best HS offenses right now and pretty soon all college teams will be doing it.

Brennan has zero awareness, shrunk on 3rd downs, and after 4 years hasn’t seen the game slow down. No pocket or situational awareness. Bigger arm../that’s it.

Max, incredible feel for the pocket and where the pressure is coming from for freshman. Steps up into the pocket a la Brees when facing outside pressure. Brennan has regularly scrambled to the pressure. In big moments, the game slows down for Max.

He’ll be the starter, if you know a thing about QB’s you can tell who the baller is and who the backup is...

Yes, if anything, the last year has taught us that racial diversity is completely meaningless.

All diversity is diversity of thought and therefore not meaningless.

Well, that’s baloney.

Universities are running off people who dissent from the zeitgeist and are claiming diversity because they are hiring lots of minorities who ALL believe the same thing.

I second that. Max is a better overall athlete and has more upside. I like Myles have always thought he would be great but after seeing Max as a young pup I think he is better.

Should go 9-4 or 10-3 if it all falls perfectly

I’m pumped.

Just hope it’s back to normal by September.
That’s 6 months.

I'll be disappointed if that's the case.

The toughest games they have this season are (in order of schedule):
Florida - at Tiger Stadium against a new QB and without their best offensive weapons
@Ole Miss- They return a lot of starters so will likely be a tough game
@Bama - Tough no matter what
A&M - new QB and OL. Unless something changes I feel confident we win.

I think we beat an Auburn team in transition relatively easily. So that's 4 questionable games and I think we win at least 2 of those so I'm at 10-2 as most likely pending the bowl game.

I think 11-1, with Bama being the one loss. We will beat UF, TAM, OleMiss, and Auburn in the SEC.

UCLA? Haha.
McNeese - ARE WE SERIOUSLY PLAYING McNeese?!?
Central Mich - (yawn)
Miss St - we will shut them down. Out for vengeance.
UK - Zzzz
Arkansas - please
ULM - ummm...by like 40 points

This schedule is very generous IF we get our act together. 11-1. Who else would we lose to with this schedule and this talent?

Dang. I hate Alabama so much.

establish the QB pecking order, no need to drag this out to fall camp

Why are fans so dumb about QBs? How does it hurt waiting until fall camp? There is a point at which the starter needs the first team reps, but that’s just the last three weeks or so.

I think the reason fans want a starter named is that they are hoping we have a superstar QB. And if we do, he’ll establish himself early. If no one does, than we will have inferior QBing than the fan wants.

It’s not toxic in and of itself; it’s how it is applied and abused. When will we have diversity on our football team? It does not look like society at all. Why is that?
