He did throw for 344 yards and was not playing Cornerback.

I'm of the opinion thats it's one game. His first start ever in college. Let him watch the tape and see if he can learn from his mistakes, of which there were a few. He's just gotta build up his confidence to go ahead and pull the trigger on a lot of those throws.

He also needs a little more time as well. Having to scramble as soon as you make your drop isn't ideal.

He is not throwing to open spaces. He is trying to throw to open receivers. Anticipation is his issue. Probably too big for him.

THIS.

There’s nothing more indicative of a QB waiting to see receivers open as opposed to anticipating them being open than when you see a QB machine gunning it, aka constantly starting and stopping his throwing motion. He’s behind in progressions and waiting to see them open, which becomes too late as the defenders close once he starts to throw.

Kid sucks.

Still frames is not how you break down tape. Just not how it works. Yeah he had too many misses but those pictures dont really tell the full breakdown of the play.

My biggest take away is that he wasn't reading the D presnap. If his 1st option was covered he had couldn't make it through his progressions.

There were plenty of open receivers and we left a ton of points out there. Whether be first game nerves and/or lack of game reps, some of the timing and reads can be cleaned up. Miles held the ball too long and needs to see the field better.

But, the defense giving up 44 points and over 600 yards in the air is most alarming thing with no signs of making adjustments.

We had wrs open all game, stop given Brennan excuses. Brennan not wanting to make a mistake. He was gun shy all game and waited until the wr was wide open and threw the ball. He played scared

I’m not saying he’s the guy because I’m not seeing the “it” factor but some of those could have been disasters had he thrown

the same could be said for every forward pass ever thrown

In that first picture you posted, you can tell by the shadow that there's a person behind Marshall. So I wouldn't say he was wide open there. And for all the other ones, I would like to see the play in full speed to know what exactly was going on.

Very interesting. Had no idea we were running wide open like that. Myles is a filler till next year.

He looks like a guy that doesn’t have a game ready back up and so he has a red jersey and is wrapped in cotton for practice.
Practice Rule #1: No one touches Myles!

No ULM type game in week one and so his first start is against an SECW team. It shows

Besides holding the ball, the biggest red flag is he has a clean pocket, is protected and for no reason he starts jumping around avoiding rushers that aren’t there. His feet get messed up, his balance is off and he has made his job more difficult for himself

The bright spot is they go fast and he gets much better. So we may have to just go fast this year

Have to admit for State to get 7 sacks he was def holding ball to long. He ran into the sack three times I saw myself on tv. First time playing in 4 years can’t do anything but get better with time. Also if we had run the damm ball in first half we would had scored a lot more and kept State O off field. Our defense is getting to much of a mulligan ,what a bad performance.

I think most of us are aware he is not a serviceable SEC Qb. Never thought I would find a Qb that would make me miss Etling but we found it.

The real question is: if the staff knew this is what we had why in the frick did we not get a transfer Qb?

Once again we have no Qb.

You can’t always have a perfect base to throw from. The Miss State QB threw many from an imperfect base. If you can’t do that, you’re not going to be a good QB. Almost all of those pics the OP posted seem to be makeable passes without a perfect base.

We get that he hasn’t been a starter and his main accomplishments were 4 years ago against high school players, but he’s been at LSU, practicing, learning and training with some of the top coaches and against some of the top defensive players in all of college football. Did he not gain anything from that time and experience?

This is what surprised me the most. I didn’t expect a Burrow type performance, but I sure as hell expected to see a little more seasoned college QB than what I saw. Disappointing.

The biggest issue is holding on to ball too long. So much of it is timing and quick reads. He is waiting to see if a WR is open instead of anticipating them being open when they break.

Also I dont remember many plays where he could dump off to a RB outlet.

I suspect zone D will give him issues.
