A conference exploratory committee

LSU has to start thinking about themselves and will not be bullied.
At what point should they announce they're putting together an exploratory committee looking at independent or other conference options whether they go through with it right now or not?

I don't think you announce anything. You start exploring secretly. Make sure you have a plan B, C, and D but don't let the SEC know your intentions.
I also don't hink we should leave the SEC but if you do want to explore those options, you don't show the SEC your cards.

Careful what is put out in the public. We are currently in compliance with league rules and bylaws. Something like what you describe might be a violation.

LSU wouldn't need to go independent. If they were available, the bidding war for them would be interesting. LSU brings TV money to the table.

When they are actively trying to kick you out, all bets are off.

Where exactly do all of you frickitall guys think we end up? Hint… it won’t be the Big 10. We are primed to be a part of the “super conference” SEC/BIG10, and you all want to explore competing against Houston, Baylor, and Texas Tech or maybe the ACC grouping?
You people couldn’t think your way out of a wet paper bag

The people backing LSU are not stupid. I would assume they have already begun this process.

I don't think there will be any announcements from LSU until they know exactly what is going to happen. I.e if SEC kicks them out or if LSU voluntarily leaves or if there is a settlement that gets reached. We shall see.
